Hugo had only heard whispers about that kind of drug. Ever since it hit the market, the elite circles were buzzing with people trying to get their hands on it. The distribution was extremely limited, and on the black market, it was nearly impossible to find.
To those living life on the edge, one pill was equivalent to a lifeline–a chance to cheat death, so naturally, the price had skyrocketed.
“No way. Miranda’s got a bottle of these things that look like Skittles,” Hugo muttered skeptically. “If they’re the real deal, this place would be worth tens of millions.”
Would anyone casually hand them something worth tens of millions? And such a rare drug–Miranda couldn’t possibly possess much of it. How would she even have the access?
While everyone else was celebrating the changes in their bodies, Hugo was left staring into the pill bottle, lost in thought.
“Come on, let’s go watch Miranda shoot!”
“I heard she’s great with a sniper too!”
They dragged Hugo along as they hurried toward Elian’s private shooting range. Inside, Miranda and Elian stood side by side, gripping their pistols and aiming at the moving targets ahead.
Elian glanced over at Miranda. It was his first time seeing her shoot in person. He had only ever watched her in videos, and even then, she had captivated him. Now, seeing her up close with a gun in her hand, he felt a surge
of adrenaline.
It was an attraction unlike any other.
Jasper and the others arrived and dared not utter a word. When they had approached earlier, Elian’s gaze had already hinted at his displeasure.
Elian smirked. “Ready?”
Miranda’s eyes twinkled with mischief as she fired the first shot, Elian following immediately. The sound of their gunfire reverberated through the range like a relentless storm.
Brian and the others couldn’t help but rise to their feet, astonished at how Miranda and Elian consistently hit the bullseyes of the moving targets. Their shooting didn’t falter for a moment.
Even the speed at which they reloaded was remarkable, and they were perfectly in sync.
“How is this possible? Someone can actually keep up with the boss’s speed,” Brian stammered in disbelief.
Aubrey was just as shocked. “Yeah, at this speed, no one in the base can match the boss, right?”
“Don’t doubt; absolutely no one,” Brian asserted.
It wasn’t just about keeping pace; their accuracy was equally impressive. So far, both Elian and Miranda had almost identical hit rates, with Miranda only a fraction behind.
But even that slight difference was something no one else at the base could achieve. Mr. Ashcroft was already a legend. Who could compare to a legend?
They all stood up, watching the display intently.
Miranda had never felt this exhilarated while shooting before. She usually just played around, but she had never experienced this kind of thrill.
This time, seeing Elian’s performance and the adrenaline rush he brought to the shooting made her feel completely alive. There was an invisible energy flowing between them, a unique magnetism that was solely theirs.
