Wendy was also an agent for the Flying Fish Legion, and before leaving Zephra, she had this idea of helping Sunny step back into society.
Sunny had been pretty much a recluse since falling ill, completely out of touch with the world outside.
As she was leaving Zephra, Wendy sent a message that caught her attention..
Wendy told her she was planning to sign Sunny as her client and be her agent.
Miranda thought it was a great idea. After all, Wendy was a veteran in the entertainment industry, and having her guide Sunny sounded perfect.
Sunny was quite the looker, and in this day and age, a little marketing could set her up for life.
But to her surprise, Wendy and Sunny ended up in Virell.
“Isn’t Wendy an old hand at the company? Why is she bringing her talent here for live streaming?” she asked.
Her assistant replied, “Apparently, Sunny, the newcomer, wanted to try streaming, and Virell needed people, so they came over.”
Inside, a heated argument was brewing, and Sunny seemed nervous, hiding behind Wendy.
Frowning, she pushed the door open and walked in.
Wendy was fuming. She was a veteran here, but the new manager, recently poached by the company, was treating her with blatant disregard.
He even insisted that Sunny should become a borderline provocative streamer.
“If you’re so into edgy content, why don’t you do it yourself?” she snapped.
Mr. Don sneered, “Take it or leave it. There are plenty of others who will!”
At that moment, a cool, calm female voice spoke up.
“Well said, there are indeed plenty who can fill your shoes.”
Wendy and Sunny turned in surprise at the familiar voice, and their faces lit up with delight when they saw Miranda.
“Miranda!”
Mr. Don recognized Miranda instantly. Although she had stepped back from the limelight, her legend remained. Facing Miranda, Mr. Don wouldn’t dare to act up.
Not only was Miranda a top–tier talent from the Flying Fish Legion, but she was also the Lancaster heiress.
Behind her were the influential Ashcroft and Everhart families.
Rumor had it she even managed to tame the notorious second–generation elites.
He wouldn’t dare cross her.
Quickly, he tried to ingratiate himself, “Miss, what brings you here?”
“I was passing by and saw there was some commotion, so I thought I’d take a look,” she replied, raising an eyebrow. “Sounds like Mr. Don has a penchant for edgy content?”
Mr. Don’s face turned awkward, “I wouldn’t say that. It’s just a strategy, a quick way to gain traffic.”
“Mira, I brought Sunny here for her talent,” Wendy said angrily, “But he insists on this sleazy path! It’s disgusting!”
Miranda frowned, “Since Mr. Don is so fond of edgy content, why not let Mr. Don perform it himself? Open a separate stream just for him.”
The assistant glanced at Mr. Don and nodded, “Got it.”
With that, the assistant started making calls. Everyone in the company knew Miranda’s status was on par with Mr. Smith’s.
Even Mr. Smith had to show her respect.
So the assistant didn’t hesitate.
Mr. Don forced a smile, “Miss, that’s not fair. I’m the manager of the streaming department, after all. Shouldn’t I be the one calling the shots here? You’re making my job difficult.”
Don assumed Miranda and the Flying Fish Legion were just business partners, and since he was a new recruit, he thought he had some leverage.
Wendy chuckled coldly.
It seemed he didn’t know who was really in charge here.
Miranda raised an eyebrow, “Difficult to work, huh? Well, then you don’t need to work anymore.”
She suddenly smiled, “Congratulations, you’re fired.”
“But, you don’t have the authority to fire me, do you?” he laughed nervously.
The assistant asked, “Mr. Don, would you like to process your resignation now or later?”
Mr. Don’s face turned ghostly pale.
“Fired? You can’t fire me! Do you know how many companies are headhunting me?!” he shouted in anger and embarrassment.
Miranda gestured, and security promptly escorted him out.
“Make sure he performs before finalizing his resignation,” she reminded.
Mr. Don was taken away, grumbling and cursing.
The assistant couldn’t help but comment, “Miranda, if he does perform, it might get reported.”
It was truly revolting. She couldn’t even imagine how gross it would be.
Miranda smirked, “Well, if he likes it so much, he should do it himself.”
The assistant scratched their nose.
It would surely disgust any viewers who happened to catch it.
After Mr. Don was escorted out, the streaming room was much calmer.
Seeing that Miranda knew Wendy and Sunny, the assistant wisely busied themselves elsewhere.
“Miranda! Thank goodness you were here, or that Mr. Don would have bullied us!” Wendy exclaimed, looking quite aggrieved.
