Chapter 1
For the past few days, I’ve had a very strong, horrible feeling that my husband, Alistair Blackwell, is cheating on me
He promised to pick me up at the BlueRivers Airport, but I landed almost twenty minutes ago and he’s nowhere to be seen. He’s also been breaking a lot of his promises these past months
I close my eyes and try to use my power of telepathy to find his but my eyes fly open ten seconds later and a grunt of pain slips past my lips. The same burning sensation always erupts in my brain whenever I try to find him. It’s weird.
After calling him more than twenty times with no response, I decide to hook a taxi and surprise him at his office.
Beyoncé’s “I Am On To See My Husband” blasts through the cal radio and I drum my fingers against my swollen, nine month pregnant tummy. The song doesn’t make me as excited as it used to.
There’s a feeling of dread deep in my stomach that I try to ignore. Something’s not right. I can feel it.
Thirty minutes later, we arrive at Blackwell Automobiles, the second largest and most successful automobile company in BlueRivers Pack and bend.
I pay the driver, grab my tiny duffel bag and match straight past the entrance with desperation in my every step.
Allistair made me go all the way to Arizona alone for my final ultrasound because he was “busy.” He’s missed a lot of doctor’s appointments these past few months because of the same reason
Let’s see what he’s been up to, shall we?” I mutter to myself as I climb into the elevator.
Everything is going smoothly… until 1 arrive at his secretary’s desk.
I’m well aware that the woman doesn’t particularly like me ever since Alistair and I got married two years ago, so I don’t bother saying a word to her as I walk past.
However, I only take one step when her high–pitched, whiny voice stops me;
“Um, ma’am, where are you going?”
I pause, roll my eyes and turn to her.
“Sasha, I’m going to see my husband. Is there a problem?”
She flips her perfect black hair over one shoulder:
“I’m sorry, Ma’am, but you cannot go in there right now. The boss is in a very important meeting and he specifically asked not be disturbed.”
My veins twist with anger and I clench my fingers.
“I’m nine months pregnant, Sasha, and 1 need to sit down. I sure as hell won’t sit on the reception’s uncomfortable sofa. No- meeting is more important to Alistair than his pregnant wife. I’m sure he’d agree.”
That said, I turn around again and quickly make my way towards his office.
What I do not expect is for Sasha to leave her desk and come running after me.
“Ma’am, you can’t go in there! Ma’am…!”
She sounds desperate, and that propels me to walk faster.
Chapter 1
By the time I’m close enough to push his heavy glass door openny lips lift in a victorious smile;
“You can’t catch me now.
Isten
But the sight that greets me the moment I step foot into Alistair luxurious office knocks the smile clean off my face.
My mouth falls open in horror… because seated on his executive chair is my husband, and the “important meeting he claims to be attending is a woman who currently straddles him while he eats her face and lips like a starved man.
They’re so absorbed in ravaging each other that no one notices e until Sasha barges into the office behind me.
“Ma’am. I told you!”
Her voice trails off when she notices my horrified expression.
The moment Alistair and his mystery woman hear her, she jumps off him at the speed of light while he quickly tries to button up his loose shirt.
Unfortunately, I’m fed with a glance of the woman’s luscious breasts before she quickly tucks it into her bra.
My blood is already boiling and I’m completely speechless, but the moment my eyes clash with that of Alistair’s mistress, my mouth drops open in shocked horror.
“Wait, Z–Zara…?” I stutter, my voice laced with hurt and disbelief “You’ve got to be kidding me. You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!!”
My heart feels like it’s been pierced with a sword. My husband is cheating on me with my own maternal cousin. Someone I’ve considered to be my sister for years.
Zara looks away, acting like I didn’t just catch her grinding my husband like her life depended on it.
I knew something was fishy when she suddenly became so insistent on becoming his Personal Assistant a year ago. I just didn’t think…
“Amaya, what are you doing here?” Alistair asks when he finally succeeds in zipping up his pants.
“You’re supposed to be in Arizona.”
My shock morphs into rage;
“You sent me to Arizona all alone so you could sleep with my cousin behind my back? How could you, Alistair? How could you do this to me?!”
He takes a step in my direction and I hurriedly take one back.
“Amaya, please listen to me…”
“Don’t you dare come close to me, you cheating bastard!” I cut in haughtily.
“After two years of loving you and devoting myself to you, this is how you repay me? How long has this been going on?”
To my absolute shock, Zara doesn’t seem remorseful at all. I watch in horror as she sashays to Alistair’s side and wraps her hands around his arm.
Surprised, I keep waiting for my husband to push her away, but nothing of that sort happens.
Instead, the tiny bit of remorse that was even evident in Alistair eyes earlier equally disappears and he pulls Zara closer against him.

Chapter 1
The dread in my stomach multiplies.
“Well, little cousin, Zara says confidently: “you were not supposed to find out this way, but Alistair and I have been together for the past six months. We’re in love and we’re destined for each other.”
My heart drops to the bottom of my shoes.
“W–What?” I turn to Alistair. “She’s lying, isn’t she? This cannot be true. Tell me!”
“She’s telling the truth.” He finally replies, “Zara is the woman I ly love. She was my first love, the one wornan I really wanted to marry, not you. Our marriage was never supposed to happen, Amaya.
I only married you to bring an end to the war between our kind. We were never even supposed to last this long.”
His eyes are cold and remorseless. Those eyes that once used to shine with love for me now look at me with nothing but hatred.
My heart burns with panic as I wrap my arms around my stomach and whisper;
“You don’t mean that. How can you say that after everything we’ve been through together, Alistair? I’m nine months. pregnant with our children. How can you do this to me?!”
He smirks.
“Did you think I wasn’t aware that you were a whore when I married you?” He asks bitterly as he walks to his desk and picks
up
papers.
“In case you’re thinking that you’ve succeeded in deceiving me. I’m sorry, but you haven’t. I’m well aware that those bastards growing in your womb may not be mine. All witches are whores and that will never change.
Until a DNA test is conducted to confirm that they actually belong to me, I will never let you rope man’s children.”
A sharp pain throbs deep in my guts and I shake my head in disbelief.
e into raising another
“What the hell are you even talking about? You’re the only man I’ve ever been with. What do you mean?”
He comes to a stop a few feet in front of me and throws the papers in my face.
The papers flutter in the air and land around me like confetti.
“Those are divorce documents, Amaya. I’m tired of this marriage. Sign it and get out of my life forever.”
