Chapter 11
“Caesar, what are you talking about?” Mom asks, her brows creasing in a frown. “I thought you and Elle.
-Mom. I just explained to you that we’re not together. I divorced her, remember? Like I said, my wife will be here won *
Because this conversation is making me angry as hell, I turn around and walk away.
Exactly thirty minutes later, it’s time for the dinner to commence and Amaya is still not here. I’m almost losing my shit
My mother does not look particularly happy either.
“Caesar, you said your future wife would be here soon. It’s almost thirty minutes past the hour of ten and she’s not here Where is she
I open my mouth to speak but just then, a commotion seems to come from the doorway and I get to my feet to investigate. The guards do not recognize Amaya. If she’s the one, they mightn’t let her in.
Suddenly, a very familiar female scream pierces the air;
“Let go of me!! I said let goooo!!!
I freeze. Everyone becomes really silent after that.
Amaya
I hurry towards the door with half of our dinner guests on my heels, and the sight that greets me has my insides freezing in shock
“Don’t you dare touch me! Don’t you fucking dare!” She screams at the security guard.
My heart twists at the sight of the guard struggling to carry her out of the building. This woman looks absolutely nothing like the stubborn, classy Amaya that I know. She looks…intoxicated.
“Let go of her.” I order.
The guard turns in my direction
“Are you sure, sir? She’s drunk and it looks like she’ll cause a lot of trouble.”
Drunk? Amaya is drunk?
I file that information away for later and move forward to take her from the security guard. The moment she sees me, her dazed eyes light up with child–like glee,
“Caesar! Oh, it’s so good to see you.”
I thought the security guard was playing around, but when Amaya wraps her arms around my neck, the strong smell of liquor emanating from her body nearly chokes me.
Now, I’m furious. Did she do this on purpose
to embarrass me?
“What the hell are you doing, Amaya?” I mutter angrily. “How did you get drunk? You were fine when I called you earlier.”
“Oh. Caesar,” she slurs. “The whiskey was just too good you resist.” She let’s put a huge burp and I have to turn my face to get away from the smell.

ue, Dec
Three seconds later, stieburtows her face against my chest and Whispers,
“You always smell so good, Caesar. So, so good.”
Right there and then, an unexplainable feeling of protectiveness comes over me and I’m hit with the urge to pick her up and hide her away in a place where no one would ever have to see her like this, asitles me.
I stare intently at her smooth face, fascinated by the redness of her cheeks and nose and her naturally long eye lashes.
Amaya Montgomery could easily be the most beautiful woman ve ever seen. And I just admit, she’s a very adorable drunk.
“Caesar, who is this?” Mother asks, looking at Anaya with disgust
“Her clothes look expensive but she acts like she has no class. I’m sure she wasn’t invited to my dinner Whole
she?”
I shut my eyes in a bid to keep my annoyance at bay. When I open them, I return to default setting. Ice cold. Emotionless.
“Mother, meet Amaya Montgomery. She’s my fiancée
Gasps of shock erupt in the room. Judging by my mother’s expression, you would think someone committed blasphemy against the Moon Goddess.
“Wait, you’re joking, right? This better be a very bad joke, Caesar
I narrow my eyes on her.
Have you ever known me to be a joker, mother? Amaya is my bride–to–be and our marriage is scheduled to be held in the next two days. End of story.”
Mother’s eyes darken with rage.
“I will never allow this. I will never let you stain our family’s name by marrying this… this classless drunkard.”
Okay, that’s it.
“Mother, I respect you a lot, but I assure you that you might lose that respect if you keep talking about Amaya in that manner. Please accord her the respect she deserves as a future member of the Manchester Clon.”
“The goddess forbid!” Mother snaps, She turns around and pulls Elle forward.
“This is the only daughter–in–law that I recognize. Why don’t you do what is right and remarry Elle?”
My anger finally explodes.
“That’s enough mother!” I thunder, stunning everyone to silence
“That’s enough, mother!” Amaya tries to mimic me.
A giggle slips past her lips and my throat tightens with an emotion I cannot quite explain:
Suddenly, she starts struggling in my arms;
“Let go of me. Let go!”
“Amaya, you’re drunk. Where are you going?”
I finally let go of her when her expression twists in a manner that indicates that she might start crying any time now.

mother.” She hiccups.
“I w–want to say h–hi to you

Chapter 11
Before anyone can stopher, Amaya skips to my mother and give her a very sloppy, drunk curly
She opens her mouth to say something and the worst that could ever happen finally happens.
Instead of a greeting, Amaya spews yellowish vomit all over mollier’s expensive clothes and jewellery.

The entire room dissolves into an uproar as the guests take off ning helter–skelter to avoid being touched by the vomit.
Mother, on the other hand, is aghast as Elle tries to pull her out of range of Amaya’s mouth.
“Oh goddess!” Mother screams, totally horrified and disgusted.my clothes! My jewellery!!”
Before I can get to Amaya, Henry is already holding her hair out of place while she continues to empty the contents of her stomach all over the place.
“Caesar, is this really the kind of woman you want to get married to?” Elle inquires. “Look what she’s done to your mother! She has embarrassed your entire family!”
When Amaya is done, she almost falls to the ground. I hurry forward and lift her into my arms, the she buries her face in my neck and whispers:
“I don’t feel so good, Caesar. I feel… horrible.”
Despite the look of disappointment on the faces of all the guests, I bow once.
“This is my future wife and nothing is ever gonna change that. Tapologise for what she’s done. We’ll take our leave now
Henry, get the car”
Without wasting any more time, I hurry to the car and seconds later, we’re already speeding towards the hospital.
I said what I said earlier because I did not want to embarrass Araya, but with the anger currently unfurling in my chest, I do not think she will still remain my future wife…
