Chapter 20
AMAYA
Caesar’s aura is the same as usual dark, dangerous and smouldering as hell.
Everyone remains silent, staring at him in surprise as he walks into the room. He pauses a few feet away from my ex- husband and I can see the flash of fear in Alistair’s eyes. In all their eyes.
Alistair clears his throat and steps forward, trying to appear brave.
“What are you doing here? How did you get in?”
Caesar looks him up and down, apparently not impressed.
“How I got in should not be the subject of concern here, but I suggest you change your guards and hire well–trained ones if you want to live long”
Alistair’s eyes narrow with a mixture of anger and confusion.
“If you harmed any of my guards…”
Cesar waves his left hand dismissively.
“It’s just :
couple of broken limbs. They’re werewolves. They’ll be fine.”
He paces away from Alistair and settles into one of the sofas, looking around with a corner of his lips tilted upwards in obvious disgust.
“Oh, and I really think you should fire your interior decorator. The changes to your house are hideous as hell. The previous decor was way
better.”
I don’t know why that statement warms a spot in my heart, but it does. Maybe because Alistair looks murderous and Zara lips are tight with anger.
Jayla scoots closer to me and whispers;
“Girl, am I hearing things or did Caesar just roast the Blackwells your favour?”
I give her a look that screams that I’m as surprised as she is.
“What are you doing here, Caesar? Besides, I’m your future Supreme Alpha. You shouldn’t be seated when I’m speaking.” Alistair says authoritatively.
The temperature in the atmosphere seems to have fallen to below zero degrees.
Wrong choice of words, Alistair. Wrong choice of words.
Caesar smirks. I’m sure everyone probably thinks he found that statement funny, but I know that devious gleam in his eyes all too well. Something’s brewing-
“With all due respect to our Supreme Luna, you and I both know that a weakling like you will never become Supreme Alpha.” Caesar says with a light tone.
Zara gasps in shock and Alistair takes a threatening step in his direction, already red–faced at the insult
“What did you just say to
to me? I dare you to repeat
Chapter 20
Caesar shnigs
“A weakling like you will never become the Supreme Alpha of He Rivers Pack. Alistair You’re not even fit for the position and that’s nothing but the absolute truth.”
Alistair’s mother gets to her feet, her eyes blazing with rage
“How dare you come in here and insult my son in that manner: This is unacceptable. You should accord us the respect we deserve as the royal family
Jayla grips my arm tightly while my heart is on the verge of beating out of my ribcage
The Supreme Luna is right. Caesar’s words are unacceptable. If someone else had said it, they’d be facing very grievous punishments. But this is Caesar Manchester we’re talking about
Not even the royal family can control him.
The reason is quite simple. Although they’re not royalty, the Manchester family are one of the founding fathers of the Blue Rivers Pack. They’re one of the two families who have supreme immunity – they cannot be pimished under any laws governing the pack unles their offense is extremely severe.
The only other family who enjoys that immunity are the Golden Bloods.
“Mrs Blackwell, you and I both know that if your son is crowned the leader of this pack, our enemies will wipe us off the surface of the earth faster than you draw breath. But your family continues to feed Alistair’s delusions.
Anyways, I’m not here to banter with an irresponsible ruler.” He pauses and proceeds to fix those cold, dark eyes on Zara
“Miss Zara, you’re quite pompous for a woman who snuck her way into someone else’s marriage and is enjoying someone else’s sloppy seconds.”
My mouth falls open. Okay, Caesar is on a roll!
Jayla leans against me once again;
“Remind me never to trade
e words with this guy.”
Caesar, however, is not done.
“You seem so certain that Amaya is a whore, but didn’t you use to keep tables at Anna’s Courtyard just a year ago?”
Gasps
of shock rent the air. And yes, one of those gasps came from me.
Why are we shocked? Anna’s Courtyard is a brothel. Rumours have spread countless times that any lady who works there must’ve sold her body for money at some point.
Zara’s face is as red as a tomato, but she isn’t one to give up easily.
“You’re lying!” She spits. “You do not have any evidence to back up your claims. I pride myself by my morals. A classy lady
like that.” like me can never work at a place
She says it with so much confidence that Alistair starts to back her up.
“I believe my fiancee, Zara would never work at that kind of establishment. You’re just angry that we all know Amaya is a cheap whore! Keep Zara out of this.”
My blood boils with rage at Alistair’s words. I’m just about to tell him off but Caesar beats me to it;
“Call her a whore again. See what happens.”
Chapter 20
His voice is calmy, but only a fool will believe that Caesar uttered those words with peaceful intentions.
Alistair stands up taller, trying to hide the fear in his eyes.
“What are you gonna do about it?” He asks, his voice dripping with contempt.
Meanwhile, I stare at him in awe, becoming increasingly disgusted at myself for ever settling for such a fool. What did I ever see in him?
Try me first.” Caesar growls. “See what happens”
He redirects his attention to Zara.
“You have the audacity to ask for evidence? Have you forgotten that you served my table at Anna’s Courtyard one fateful night about a year ago? Or do you have a twin sister we do not know about?”
Zara shifts uncomfortably and her once confident mask starts to crack.
Alistair’s mother turns to her with a tight frown;
“Zara, what is he talking about?”
Quite surprisingly, she bursts into tears.
“Mother, I promise I do not know what he’s talking about. You know I can never work at a brothel. He’s lying.” The melodramatic bitch!” Jayla snarls under her breath. “I could tell that those tears are fake from a mile away.”
out his phone, scrolls through it and finally holds it up, displaying a picture for everyone to see. “If you’d just accepted that you worked there, maybe, just maybe I would’ve let you off the hook. But you just had to lie, didn’t you?”
Caesar quietly w
I tilt my head closer to the screen. My eyes widen in shock and horror when I take in the full picture.
It’s really Zara. Dressed in obscenely short, black leather tights, blinding red wig and a transparent sheath that does nothing to hide her pointy nipples, she looks completely unrecognizable.
She looks like a slut.
“Not only did Zara work as a waitress at Anna’s Courtyard, she was equally a stripper there.” Caesar deadpans
We all have different reactions to the picture.
We
Jayla bursts into a devious giggle. Mrs. Blackwell shakes her head and gasps in utter disgust. Zara cries even harder than before, while Alistair is frozen stiff like he’s been struck by lightning.
Caesar takes back his phone and calmly shoves it back into his pocket like he hasn’t just wrecked havoc on the entire Blackwell family.
“So you see, Alistair, you took a good woman for granted, threw her out of your life and ended up marrying a whore. If that isn’t karma. I don’t know what is.”
The entire Blackwell family have been rendered speechless as they struggle to recover from the shock.
- on the other hand, stare at Caesar with utter amazement. Why did he do that? Why did he stand up He gets to his feet and addresses Alistair once again:
for me?

Chapter 201
“You rejected Amaya aml depied the fatherhood of your kids. Onwards, those kids will no longer be yours. You don’t even have to conduct a DNA test on them anymore. They’re mine now, and Ill nake sure that they have every single thing a deadbeat father like you could never provide for them”
That said, he grabs my wrist and calmly pulls me out of the room
“Let’s go, Miss Amaya. I believe both of us have a score to settle
