Chapter 3
My brain is still reeling with shock by the time Alistair’s mother leaves the hospital. I fall back against the bed, completely dumbfounded.
1 chose Zara as the Chief bridesmaid at nty wedding instead of thy own best friend and this is how she chooses to repay my
Trust
I loved Alistair with all my heart when his father, our Supreme Alpha, disowned him and left him with nothing. I was with him when everyone left because he was broke, but this is how chooses to treat me.
Anger, pain and resentment war for domination within me. Right now, I just want to disappear.
“Please, leave.” I say to the stranger, turning to the wall to avoid any form of communication. “I want to be alone.”
“I’m not going anywhere.” He says firmly, stunning ine once more.
I shut my eyes tight..
“Look, so much has happened to me in the past few hours. I’m too exhausted to argue with you right now. I really appreciate your help but it’s time for you to leave. If you see my best friend out there by any chance, please send her in. She’s a blonde with blue eyes.“”
For a moment, thick, tense silence reigns in the room.
“Did you think I offered my help for free?” He asks suddenly. So suddenly, I believe I must be hearing things.
Shocked, I whip my head so hard, my neck almost cracks.
“Excuse me?”
His dark, smouldering eyes darken even further
“If I didn’t find you on time, you and your babies would never have made it. I helped you, but I didn’t do it for free. I want something in return.”
I shake my head, not sure I’ve heard right.
“First of all, who are you?”
He lifts one of his perfectly arched eyebrows as if disgusted at the mere thought that I don’t know who he is.
“My name is Caesar Manchester.” He deadpans, his voice ringing with an air of authority.
Wait. Where have 1 heard that name
Three seconds later, realisation hits me and my eyes widen in surprise.
Caesar Manchester is one of New York’s most accomplished businessmen. Not only has he been on the list of the most eligible bachelors five times in a row, his company, Caesar’s Technology has been ranked by Forbes Magazine amongst the top five tech, companies in America.
But the main bone of contention here is that Ceaser Manchester and my husband, Alistair, have been rivals for years. Pure
enemies.
Blackwell Automobiles and Ceaser Technology have been competing for the best company award since their inceptio and Ceaser always wins, rendering Alistair to second place every single time.
Chapter 3
Alistair’s mother and I weren’t able to recognize him because he only appears on the media once in a blue moon. His life is so private that journalists literally beg him for an interview morchly.
I don’t know why, but suddenly, I’m very suspicious of this man My heart suddenly starts racing and my palm becomes clammy with sweat.
I try to sit up but pain shoots up my spine and I fall back against the bed with a wince,
“Don’t fucking move, Amaya.” He growls.
The way he says my name has my body tingling with awareness,
“What do you want from me?” I ask, trying to sound brave.
Caesar sinks his hands into the pockets of his custom made slacks, looking every inch the accomplished billionaire.
In addition to saving you and your babies from the rain, I’m going to extend my generosity and help you take revenge on your husband.”
Something tells me that his man is more dangerous than what meets the eyes.
“I never asked for your help. I don’t need it.”
“You haven’t even heard my proposition” He says confidently.
“I don’t want to know your…”
“Three days ago, I received an invitation from your husband,” he cuts in, “can you guess the event he’s celebrating?”
My eyes narrow in suspicion. Alistair never told me about any upcoming events.
“Why would my husband invite his rival to his event?”
His lips curl in a vicious smile.
“Alistair has successfully kept you in the dark, I see.
There’s no need to beat around the bush. Your husband invited me to an engagement party between him and a Zara Wilson I’m guessing she’s your cousin.”
My
throat tightens painfully as his words settle around me. The hairs at the back of my nape tingle with dread
“Wait–you can’t be serious.”
“Oh, but I am. The engagement party is set to hold
old in a week’s time and I was even told I could bring a date.
Now, back to our revenge plot. I’ll help you prove to Alistair that he never mattered in your life. I’ll help you show him that you’re doing perfectly fine without him. In return, you’ll do something for me.”
I finally look up and hold his bottomless gaze. It suddenly feels like I’m making a deal with the devil
“I really don’t need your help. I don’t need to prove anything to Alistair.” I say through gritted teeth.
After a few seconds of silence, Caesar asks in a menacingly calmone;
“You’re not just heartbroken, Amaya, You’re angry, aren’t you? You’re angry that you loved Alistair with all your heart, but from the look of things, he never loved you.
You’re angry that his family treats you like trash. You’re angry that he not only slept with your cousin, he got her pregnant

whilst you were equally pregnant with his babies.
Hide it all you want, but I can see the anger in vi hurt you. You just have to say the words.”
eyes. I’m ready to help you regain your dignity before everyone who
1 clench my fingers trying to ignore the rage that his words ignite in my soul. Unfortunately, I do not succeed.
“How do you intend to help me?” I ask with a sigh of resignation
His eyes light up with victory.
“Simple. You’ll attend the engagement party as my date. We’ll announce our relationship to the world and being a man with an ego the size of a small fish, I’m sure Alistair will be beside himself with jealousy. In no distant time, he’ll surely come begging.
I shake my head to clear my thoughts, completely shocked that in even considering his idea.
“And what do you want in return?”
His eyes narrow to dangerous, dark slits.
“I need a wife, Amaya. In return for my generosity, you will sign a contract that will make you my wife for the next two
years…
