Chapter 40
AMAYA
“Hello, Amaya. We meet again.”
My heart pounds at a terrifying pace as I take in the utterly wicked smirk on Alistair’s lips. I look around immediately, searching for something I can use as a weapon.
In front of me, Alistair lifts both his hands in mock surrender.
“There’s really no need for that, little wife. I’m just here for a chat.”
I whip my head in his direction, masking my fear with anger. “Ex wife, Alistair. In case you’ve forgotten, we’re divorced.”
The
angry flash of his eyeballs tells me that he didn’t like that statement one bit.
He takes a deep breath and sinks one hand into the pocket of his slacks.
“That’s unfortunately true, but thankfully, I’m here to remedy that.”
My eyes fall on an abandoned fork on the dresser right beside Alistair. I used it to eat my fruit salad this morning and the cleaners must have forgotten to take it away. Now, my entire motive is centered around getting a hold of that fork.
Something about Alistair’s stiff shoulders scream violence and danger.
“What are you doing here?” I ask, trying to distract him. “How did you even get in?*
Alistair scoffs. “Just like Elle, I never thought he’d go through with it. I never thought Caesar was serious about marrying you. You can imagine my shock when I received an invitation card yesterday, to my own wife’s wedding.”
“Ex–wife, Alistair. We’re divorced.” I repeat.
His fingers fist with annoyance and my blood runs cold.
“That was a big mistake, Amaya. Can’t you see? Getting married to Caesar is the biggest mistake you have ever made. It’s not too late to leave him and return to me. Let’s start our lives afresh Let’s rule the BlueRivers Pack as Supreme Alpha and Queen Luna. Just us and our children.”
The anger that was simmering softly inside of me bubbles to the surface with a violent intensity. I pause and hold his gaze with a fierce one of my own.
“Excuse me, did you just say “our” children?”
He nods, his eyes gleaming with desperation. “Yes. Heaven and Neveah. Our children. We’ll live as one big happy family just like we always planned.”
I nod, trying hard to control my rage.
“And how did you get to know their names?”
He shrugs. “I did my research, went to the hospital and asked for their birth records and everything
Once again, I nod.
I might appear calm, but my fingers currently itch with the need to shove something sharp into both sides of Alistair’s neck and my eyes burn with the urge to watch him slowly bleed to death.

After everything he put me through during the course of my pregnancy, childbirth and after care, calling this man a moronic bastard would be an insult to all the moronic bastards in the world.

Alistair takes one step in my direction and I slowly edge to the side, towards the dresser and my ultimate target – the fork.
“I thought you were convinced that they were not your children. What changed?” I ask through gritted teeth. If Alistair notices the anger in my tone, he says nothing.
“I made a mistake, Amaya. Of course they’re my children. Who else would they belong to?”
“You called me a whore.” I state matter–of–factly.
His jaw hardens with annoyance and it suddenly dawns on me that Alistair does not really want m problem. He’s furious that his rival has successfully taken his wife away from him.
ack. It’s an ego
“Can’t we move past that already?” He growls. “I’m here with you right now, aren’t I? I’m asking you to come back with me. Isn’t that enough?”
I shake my head, completely exasperated. “I don’t hear an apology, Alistair.”
He stops and stares as if I just said something completely alien, then his forehead furrows with a frown.
“An apology? What for? Look, you’re already wasting too much time. We need to get out of here before Caesar arrives.”
It suddenly dawns on me that this was his plan all along.

“Did you plan with Elle?” I whisper incredulously. “What did you think would happen? Did you honestly think I’d fly into your arms and we’d drive off into the sunset? Well, I’m sorry to burst your little delusional bubble but I’m a married woman now and there’s nothing you can do about it!”
Alistair’s face contorts in rage and he takes two large steps in my direction, tripling my fear. I don’t know if he has any evil intentions but even if he did, I won’t be able to fight him off by myself. He’s too powerful.
My suspicions are confirmed when he says; “you can choose to come with me willingly or I can make you. Choose wisely.”
Shit! “And what about Zara?” I blurt, trying to buy time. “I thought she was pregnant for you.”
Alistair keeps coming closer until we’re merely inches apart. “Forget about that whore, baby. Let’s focus on us.”
Standing so close, there’s absolutely no way I’d be able to get to the fork in time. I need to make a run for it. I have to take him by surprise.
I take a deep breath, my limbs tightening in preparation to make a mad dash. However, quite unfortunately, I’ve only taken two steps from my current perch when Alistair grabs my arm in a savage grip.
Before I can even comprehend the seriousness of my situation, I’m pushed backwards, slammed against me table backfirst and knocked completely out of breath.
“Where the fuck do you think you’re going?” He growls, wrapping his hands around my neck. “I already told you, Amaya. There’s no escaping me. Not now, not ever!”
I struggle and flail against him in a bid to get air down my starved lungs;
“You’re ch–choking me, Alistair.” I stutter. “P–please, I c–can’t b–breathe.”
Instead of letting go, his hands around my neck only tightens further.
The heavy scent of his expensive perfume mixed with perspiration assails my nostrils, making me feel lightheaded and confused.

At the last moment, my–fingers slide across the table and I freeze when I feel a metallic object. The fork!
While Alistair is muttering profanities above me, I grab the fork and hold on to it very, very tightly.
I’ve just reared myself to attack when he says something that causes my blood to run cold.

“Well then, since you’ve refused to come with me, I might as well take what I can before your bastard of a husband arrives.”
That said, he spins my aching body around and slams my front against the table once more, pressing my face against the hardwood with my arse in the air. Panic and fear struggle for domination within me. I can already feel my wolf relocate to a dark corner, absolutely terrified.
“Alistair, what are you d–doing? Please…”
My question is answered when I hear a loud, angry “rip!”
My dress. Goddess, he just tore my dress.
My wolf lets out a howl of distress deep inside of me.
“I’m sure that bastard must think he’ll be enjoying some fresh pussy tonight.” Alistair growls above me, struggling with his zipper. “It’ll–be my pleasure to send over damaged goods. Stay still!”
“No!” My heart literally breaks to pieces as I struggle and claw for escape. “Please, let go. Don’t do this, please!”
A part of me still finds it difficult to believe that I was once married to, and mindlessly in love with this monster. A monster’s that about to rape me.
I struggle and fight with all my might, but like I said Alistair is stronger. He manages to secure both my hands behind my back and continues to rip my wedding dress to pieces.
Seconds later, tears are leaking from the corners of my eyes as he presses the hot, hard length of his erection against my now bare arse. I go completely still, exhausted from all my struggles.
“Thwack!!” I wince in pain and shock as Alistair slaps my arse.
“Mmm. This ass is still as luscious as I remember it.” He snarls, his voice dripping with lust. “I hope no other man touched you during our temporary separation, baby. This ass, this pussy, belongs to me.”
He grabs his erect cock and uses it to trace a pattern over my arse checks. I feel sick to my stomach. It’s a miracle that I haven’t puked everything I ate this morning.
As I lie there, I try to think of a few spells that can help me out, but my brain is paralyzed with fear and I can barely remember anything.
My tears fall harder when Alistair slaps my arse a second time and positions his cock against my dry sex.
In that dire moment, I shut my eyes and whisper;
“Caesar, please help me.”

CAESAR
After making sure that Elle has been sent back to the rehabilitation center and she’ll no longer be a problem, I’ve just retrieved my phone to check on an international call that I’m expecting when I hear footsteps storming towards me.
I look up and my heart does backflips when I see Jayla. She look upset.

“Caesar, have you seen Amaya? I can’t seem to find her anywhere.”
I shove my phone back into my pocket immediately, my wolf going on high alert.
“What do you mean? I entrusted her into your care.”

“Yes, I know. But I lost my amulet and had to go find it. I asked for wait for me in her dressing suite but I’m just coming from there and it’s locked.”
The steady beating of my heart gradually morphs into a vicious drumming. I try to tell myself that she’s okay, she’s probably around the building somewhere, but there’s an icy feeling at the pit of my stomach that ha

used to go away.
“Organize the rest of the guards and search the grounds thoroughly for my wife. I want her found and brought to me ASAP.”
Gabriel bows slightly. “Right away, sir!”
Jayla’s expression is ashen and she looks scared. This can’t be good.
“I’m so sorry. This is all my fault. I didn’t know…”
Suddenly, Her blabbing gradually fades into the background, replaced by a sharp, painful sensation in my chest. The pain is followed by a loud, buzzing sound in my brain.
Then I hear it, and I’m instantly frozen to the spot;
“Caesar, please help me…”
