Chapter 49
AMAYA
The moment they hear Caesar’s voice, most of the kids abandone and run to him, staring up at him in awe.
His eyes are firmly locked on mine and butterflies erupt in my ly. I’m
still upset, so I frown and look away.
“Wow, sir, are you Zeus‘ brother?”
“You’re really tall!*
“I love your hair! It looks so silky!”
“Can we touch you?”
I honestly do not blame the children. Not only is Caesar gorgeous–as–sin, he emits the aura of some supernatural being. His presence attracts attention. He’s beautiful. End of story.
After paying attention to the kids for a while, I feel his eyes on me once again before I hear him say: “can I speak to my wife now? She looks upset.”
All the kids burst into low giggles.
“Sir, you
know, my dad says that if a woman is upset with you, it means she’s either tired or hungry. I bet your wife is those things.

“Oh. Is she?” Caesar’s voice is a low growl.
“Yes, sir!” The boy responds, bringing a smile to my lips. “I can take you to my mom’s restaurant. She makes the meanest, most delicious chicken adobo ever!”
I stand to the side, listening to them conclude the conversation as I kick my legs in the sand. I cannot for the life of me understand why I can’t just turn around and run away while he’s busy with the kids.
Finally, about two minutes later, I feel him behind me. Before I can react, he wraps his arm around my around, bringing us face–to–face.
His dark eyes are narrowed and bottomless.
arm and spins.

“Was it decided somewhere that you would scare me to death throughout the duration of this marriage?”
I bite my lips and his eyes follow the movement, darkening even further.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“I expected you to stay with the driver when you left the mall. What makes you think you can wander around the city on your own? I know this place is safe but anything could still happen. You could get hurt, kidnapped or worse. Do you really enjoy making me worry about you so much?”
My breath gets stuck in my throat as that last statement sinks in His eyes hold me captive, and behind the anger and annoyance, I see the worry. Caesar was really worried about me
It makes me feel bad for a second. Only for a second.
Then I fold my arms and look away;
“You didn’t expect me to just stand there while Nadine and her daughter insulted me, did you?”
Chapter 49
Caesar shuts his eyes for a second. When he opens them, those obsidian oths gleam beneath the sunlight,
“Nadine and her daughter will apologize to you in person I’ll make sure of it.
And what about you? I almost ask. I want to hear an apology from you, too. You did not defend me when Nadine was talking
trash.
But instead of asking that. I start walking in the direction of the kids. “I’m hungry announce
Caesar catches up with me pretty easily, then he grabs my fingers and interlinks it with his, stunning me to silence once
more.
When he notices my expression, he mutters;
“What? You’re mine. I can touch what is mine, right?”
The little boy, Alejandro, takes us to his parents‘ Filipino restaurant. The wonderful, bright ambience lifts my spirits immediately. I love Filipitios.
“Momma! Momma! Look who I brought! I met this beautiful couple out on the beach!”
“Alejandro. Where have you been?” A soft female voice says from inside the restaurant.
Just then, a young couple walks out to greet us. I’m guessing they’re the owners and I’m just about to say hi when they both how to Caesar and chorus.
“Alpha Caesar. What a lovely surprise.”
1 pause, blinking in surprise. They’re werewolves??
I look up at Caesar. He doesn’t look the least bit surprised.
“Hello, Hana. Hello, Cristiano. How are you both?”
“Very well, Alpha.” Cristiano responds as both men exchange handshakes. “Welcome to the Maldives. Welcome to our
restaurant.
His wife sidles up to me and wraps me in a warm hug that instantly makes me feel much better.
“Hello, Mrs. Amaya. Congratulations on your marriage. You’re very beautiful.”
Okay, my shock just keeps increasing. How did she know we’re married?
“Thank you so much.” I respond with genuine affection. “You’re really pretty, too. I love your hair.”
Hana touches her heavy dark hair with a twinkle in her eyes.
“Why, thank you.”
She wraps her arms around my shoulders and leads me into the restaurant.
“Come on,
I’ll share some hair tips with you while I get your food ready.”
Almost thirty minutes later, I’m almost collapsing from starvation and the restaurant smells amazing! Finally, the fan chicken adobo is served and my first bite of the delicious meal is orgasmic.
“This tastes wonderful!” I compliment Hana and her husband. Thank you so much.”

“It’s a pleasure, Ma’am Cristiano responds.
Caesar watches me closely as 1 happily chew my food. Finally, when I’m no longer able to bear his burning stare, 1 allow my eyes to clash with his and lift a brow
“Is there something on my face?”
Without uttering a word, he leans forward, hands outstretched, and presses the pad of his thumb against the corner of my lips. For a moment, I freeze.
The air shifts and suddenly, I’m finding it very difficult to breathe. His touch sends tingles of electricity down my spine. My wolf literally howls in pleasure,
I watch, my heart pounding wildly, as he leans back. The mome he sucks the thumb that was just against my lips, my sex clenches in response and my cheeks heat with awareness.
The act is so hot, so obscenely erotic, I’m pretty sure I’m creaming my panties right about now.
His eyes are dark and smoky, rendering me speechless. I can’t even think.
“Why would you do that?” I whisper mindlessly. “I could’ve just used a wet wipe or something.”
It’s a stupid question, I know. But I just want to know. I’m dying to know.
Caesar leans back in his seat and folds his arms.
Why? Because you’re mine to do as I please, Amaya. Because I find you incredibly sexy. Because I have a feeling that you’re about to make me lose my mind…”
