Meredith said as she looked at Kenny, “I don’t want the gown, and I can return it to you. I know Dad cares for me, and I value that. But 6 million dollars is still excessive. He didn’t need to spend so much on me just for a dress.
Cassidy’s voice turned cold as she remarked. “I have no interest in it anymore. It’s tainted now.”
Meredith’s face turned pale.
Kenny erupted in anger, “You’re deliberately provoking us, aren’t you?”
Cassidy’s patience wore thin. I’m not here to talk nonsense with you. Is Paisley here?”
“Paisley?” Meredith was stunned.
Cassidy narrowed her eyes. “Not telling me?” She pivoted towards the bodyguards and instructed, “Go inside and search.”
“Okay!” The bodyguards nodded, turned around, and barged into the Jensen residence.
“What are you doing?” Samantha rushed to intervene but failed. They were too numerous and only followed orders from Cassidy and Josiah. They would turn the Jensen residence upside down until Cassidy stopped them.
“What on earth do you want to do?” Samantha stood at the living room door, watching the bodyguards ransack the place. Nerves shot through her, causing a cold sweat to break out.
Observing Samantha’s distress, Cassidy grew even more suspicious that they had taken Paisley and hidden her away. She bristled like a wary hedgehog, ready for any confrontation.
Kenny was furious. “What the heck are you doing? Why did you call so many people here?”
“Paisley… You mean your daughter? Meredith suddenly asked cautiously.
“Daughter? Where did she get a daughter from? Didn’t her two children already… Samantha trailed off internally, thinking incredulously, ‘Pass away?
Meredith swiftly clarified, Tve heard that Josiah has a fiancée, also by the name Saunders. There were whispers that his fiancée had a daughter for him. But it’s just hearsay Can’t vouch if it’s true.”
“Josiah?” Kenny was taken aback. The Saunders family held considerable influence in Broburgh. Besides the Howell family, the Saunders family nearly dominated half the medical industry. During the recent financial turmoil, many affluent individuals had fallen, but the Howells and Saunders stood firm
Upon reflection, he noticed the bodyguards were all from the Saunders clan. He pondered, “When did Cassidy get entangled with Josiah and have a child? They’re not even married, so she must have conceived out of wedlock.
Cassidy ignored them and strode right into the Jensen residence.
The loud noise shocked Lionel. He was reading in the study when the jarring noise of the door opening and slamming shut echoed through the house. Rushing out, he glimpsed several unfamiliar men swarming into his mansion, scouring different rooms, which stoked his anger.
“What are you doing?” He followed several bodyguards to the living room on the first floor and ran into Cassidy. The shock hit him so hard that he instinctively took a few steps back. Seeing someone presumed to be dead for five years, he wondered if he was seeing things. Peering closer, he verified it was indeed Cassidy, which instantly caught his breath. “Y–You?”
Cassidy said with a cold face, “What? Five years without seeing me and now you can’t recognize me?”
Lionel stood stunned, unable to utter a word. He glanced over at Kenny and Samantha behind Cassidy.
Seeing that he was frightened, Meredith immediately came over and held his arm. “Grandpa, you must be scared.” She gently patted his chest, glanced at Cassidy, and said to Lionel, “She is Cassidy. Don’t you recognize her?”
“Cassidy? I thought she was dead?” Lionel asked in surprise.
Cassidy again realized how insignificant she was in the Jensen family. She sneered and sat on the couch indifferently, crossing her legs with poise, exuding an air of ownership.
Kenny said furiously, “Dad, she deceived us. Five years ago, she didn’t die. She fooled us with some unidentified corpse. All

these years, she’s been fooling around outside, and now she doesn’t even acknowledge our family anymore. She changed her surname and started a new life elsewhere!”
“Saunders…” Samantha thought of something and questioned Cassidy, “Did you adopt Josiah’s surname?”
“What’s the issue? Cassidy retorted. Josiah had bestowed upon her a fresh start in life. She thought there was nothing wrong with her to take his surname.
Lionel fumed. That’s ridiculous! What’s the hell going on?”
Samantha’s anger mounted. “I sense a deeper mystery from five ye
man and faked her death to abscond overseas!”
Cassidy interjected coldly, “Show some respect

Meredith intervened, “Cassidy, please don’t provoke Mom and Dad like this. It’s on me. Any grievances, aim them at me. Spare my family the drama.”
“Your family? Good. Cassidy suddenly stood up. “I’m warning you. Hand over Paisley quickly, or there’ll be consequences!” Only then did Lionel react. He stomped his feet and scolded. “You are so arrogant. Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you stir trouble in the Jensen family?”
“Who am I? Today, I’ll gladly show you! Cassidy turned towards the bodyguards. They’re not handing her over. Keep searching!”
“Got it!” The bodyguards rushed up the stairs.
Kenny shouted, “Stop it right now! Who do you want me to hand over? That girl? I had no clue you had a child. Why would I hide her if I didn’t even know who she was?”
Cassidy narrowed her eyes..
Meredith hurriedly added, “Cassidy, if your daughter truly is missing, why waste time here? Just call the police and search for her. Your daughter isn’t with us.”
Cassidy frowned and suddenly said, “Wait a minute. After all the bodyguards came back to her side, she glanced at Kenny and the others. “She’s really not here?”
Samantha snorted coldly. “What do we need her for?”
That remark triggered a realization in Cassidy’s mind. She pondered, True. The Jensen family never wanted me. Why are they interested in Paisley now? I’ve been looking in the wrong direction!”
