“Yes!” Kris nearly shouted but managed to control himself Thalassa had arrived, which meant she was okay.
His mood soured a little when he saw Clark Morgan and Zeke Mathews, along with three women, taking the front- row seats reserved for Thalassa and her team.
Murmurs erupted among the guests. Some were pleased with the announcement, while others were not as happy.
“What? This is unethical! She doesn’t deserve to be allowed to participate after pulling out,” Susan protested loudly, receiving murmurs of agreement from other guests.
Linda’s face had turned pale with anger. She clenched her fists tightly, her sharply pointed manicured fingernails digging painfully into her palms.
“That stupid lowlife,” she silently fumed.
All eyes turned to the stage, waiting for TT Fashion’s exhibition. As a rhythmic song began to play, one by one, stunning models in equally gorgeous dresses sauntered down the runway, each step radiating grace and elegance.
The dresses they showcased were breathtaking, prompting nearly every guest to break into applause each time a model stepped out.
After nine models had already showcased, the host spoke again. “The last dress, I’m being told, is named The Dynamite. And for the first time in history, the dress will be modeled by the designer herself, who is also the CEO of TT Fashion House, Thalassa Thompson!”
The spotlight fell on the entrance of the runway. For a few seconds, nothing happened, and then, suddenly, Thalassa emerged from the shadows, stepping onto the stage.
She wore a stunning pink dress that hugged her figure in all the right places, a creation so elegant that it was obvious that it’d taken painstaking detail and patience to make.
The asymmetrical design of the dress highlighted her toned shoulders, with a single strap crossing over her chest, leaving the other side bare. Beads sparkled under the lights, cascading in a floral pattern across the bodice of the dress.
As she walked, the fabric moved with her, flowing effortlessly and catching the light. With her head held high, her thick, dark hair bouncing, her walk was more than just a display of the dress–it was a statement. Every movement conveyed elegance, strength, and defiance.
The audience and judges were spellbound. Kris wasn’t spared, feeling his breath catch in his throat as he watched her glide down the runway.
She was as mesmerizing as he’d always known her to be.
Reaching the end of the runway, Thalassa paused, placing one hand on her hip and striking a pose that showcased the gown’s beautiful details.
The audience erupted into resounding applause, most of them rising to their feet in a standing ovation. Cameras flashed all over. It had been a while since a walk had generated such a buzz.
She slowly turned, giving everyone a final view of the dress before finally walking backstage in the same elegant, striking manner.
Linda Miller felt like she was going to combust from her anger. The audience’s reaction to Thalassa’s dresses and her walk had far outweighed theirs, and she knew this was bad news.
Just when she thought she was going to win, why did that lowlife have to come and ruin everything?

Several minutes after Thalassa had finished her exhibition, the audience still hadn’t settled down from their excitement at what they had witnessed. This gave the judges enough time to sum up and compare their results.
During that time, Thalassa and Luisa had also come from backstage to take their seats in the front row beside Zeke. Kris’s eyes were fixed on her the entire time, but she didn’t even spare him a glance.
After a while, the host stepped back onto the stage and cleared his throat into the mouthpiece, waiting for a while for the noise to die down before announcing. “Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation, the judges have reached a unanimous decision.”
