Chapter 12 Mom, I Miss You
When Grace woke up, the plane had already passed through the clouds, and the sunlight was shining on the layers of white clouds, emitting a pure and serene feeling. She leaned against the window, looking at the scenery in front of her, and suddenly felt that her head was not so painful anymore.
Her gaze went beyond the wings, looking at the boundless sea of clouds, and a question flashed through her mind – when exactly did things start to change between her and Antonio?
Was it before Claire appeared or after Claire appeared? Grace couldn’t understand and didn’t dare to think too much. Antonio had almost occupied her entire past, letting go of such a person was as painful as pulling out bones and tendons.
Even so, there was a faint sense of relief in her heart, as if she had finally unloaded a burden that had weighed on her chest for many years.
When the plane landed, she didn’t rush to turn on her phone. Standing on the unfamiliar streets of a foreign city, she was overwhelmed by a sense of confusion. She looked up at the clear blue sky, clutching her passport in her hand, but she didn’t know where to go next.
Just at that moment, a familiar voice came from not far way.

Chapter 12 Man 1 Mist
She turned her head and saw Judy pushing through the crowd. Her mother stood in the crowd, wearing a well–tailored dress, her eyes filled with excitement. Judy raised her hand. and waved at her as if she couldn’t wait to embrace her long- lost daughter.
Grace paused for a moment and then walked towards her. Judy ran over and tightly embraced Grace.
“You have grown taller and become more beautiful,” Judy’s voice was filled with excitement and tenderness as she caressed her daughter’s face as if wanting to make up for all the regrets of the past twenty years.
Grace’s eyes welled up with tears as she tightly embraced her mother. Leaning against Judy’s chest, her voice choked, “Mom, I miss you so much.”
After twenty years of separation, they finally bridged the gap between screens and distance. Judy’s eyes were now filled with fine lines but compared to the fragile woman she once was in her youth, she now exuded confidence and composure.
“Silly child, Mom misses you too.” Judy patted her back, a hint of guilt flashing in her eyes. “Mom shouldn’t have left you back then, but… Mom had no choice. I thought you would be doing well, but I never expected…”
“Mom, I know,” Grace interrupted her, her tone gentle. “It was you who taught me that women need to learn to love themselves first to be respected by others.”
Judy wiped the corner of her eye, nodded with relief, and held Grace’s hand. “Grace, no matter what decision you make, Mom will always be on your side.”

Grace fell silent for a moment and slowly took out her phone. The screen was filled with missed calls and messages, all from Antonio. She stared at the screen for a moment, lost in thought, remembering the pair of high heels she had once lost.
“Things that should be lost, should not be kept anymore,” she murmured.
She took out the SIM card from her phone and threw it into the nearby trash can without hesitation. As she turned her head, she wore a calm smile and said, “Mom, the past is in the past.”
Judy burst into tears and laughed, grabbing her hand. “Yes, it’s in the past. We won’t mention those unhappy things. Come on, Mom will take you to eat something delicious.”
Grace held Judy’s hand and walked forward with her.
On the other side of the sea at that time, a tremendous wave was stirred up due to her departure.
