Chapter 24 Antonio, Do You Know What Love Is?
On a certain late night when she was busy preparing, a strange feeling made her heart inexplicably tense.
Grace finished the company meeting and walked alone on her way home. Under the streetlight, a long shadow followed her, as if someone was secretly watching her.
She quickened her pace, but the feeling of being followed only grew stronger. Sweat started to form in her palms, and various potential dangers kept flashing through her mind.
Just as she was walking briskly towards the entrance of the residential area, a hand suddenly reached out from behind.
Grace suddenly turned around, and before she could even shout, a familiar figure appeared in front of her.
“Grace!” Antonio gasped, his eyes filled with anxiety. “Don’t be afraid, it’s me!”
“Antonio?” Grace’s tone was filled with shock. “Were you following me?”
“No, I was just worried about you,” he approached, wanting to grab her hand, but Grace avoided him.
“Worried about me?” Grace sneered. “Have you ever considered that your existence is my biggest threat?”
Antonio felt a sharp sting, his face slightly paling. He took a deep breath, his voice low but filled with intense emotion. “Grace, I know I have done too many things that have hurt

you. I know I don’t deserve to ask for your forgiveness, but I truly… can’t let go of you”
Grace stared at him, her gaze calm and distant. “Antonio, do you think these words still hold any meaning for me?”
Antonio’s eyes were filled with pain as he urgently said, “I am willing to do anything for you! I can transfer the company to your name, I can give up everything, as long as you are willing to give me a chance!”
Grace remained silent, her gaze as calm as a deep pool, without a ripple. She quietly slipped her hand into her coat pocket and pressed the shortcut key on her phone, sending a text message.
Her actions were done secretly, with no trace of emotion on her face, as if she completely ignored Antonio’s presence.
“Grace, listen to me…” Antonio tried to take a step closer, his voice low and pained, “I know I was wrong in the past, I didn’t appreciate you. But I truly love you! I have been reflecting these past few days and trying to make amends. I am willing to give up everything for you, as long as you can forgive me.”
“Love me?” Grace lifted her eyes, her tone indifferent as if discussing the weather. “Antonio, do you know what love is?”
Antonio was stung by her indifferent reaction, his lips trembling slightly, but he couldn’t utter a word.
“Your love was built upon my patience and sacrifice,” Grace sneered. “When I silently gave everything for you, you turned a blind eye; when I walked away, you chased after me with regret. Antonio, you were just accustomed to being loved, only to realize the emptiness once it was gone.”

Antonio’s face turned pale, his throat moved, as if he wanted to argue, but ultimately remained silent.
Grace averted her gaze, took out her keys, and prepared to open the door. She had already heard the distant sound of police sirens and felt a slight sense of relief in her heart.
“Grace, I know you hated me,” Antonio’s voice sounded behind her, with a hint of pleading, “but I want to make amends – not for myself, but for you. I know the past has hurt you too much, but at least give me a chance to prove that I genuinely want to treat you well.”
Grace paused for a moment, then sneered, “Compensate? What can you compensate for? The past ten years, or my youth?”
This sentence stabbed into Antonio’s heart like a sharp knife. His face was filled with regret, wanting to say something, but was interrupted by the sudden blaring of a police car siren.
“Ms. Parrish, did you call the police?” The officer quickly got out of the car and walked over to Grace.
Grace nodded and calmly said, “This gentleman had been following me and bothering me for a long time, and I felt that he posed a threat to me.”
