“RAYNE! Face me, you coward!” The savage howl ripped through the night air like shattered glass,
making even the ancient barrier runes tremble. Each word dripped with fury as Silvana’s claws raked against the protection spells, her power fluctuating wildly despite her supposed weakness.
“Show yourself, you thieving excuse for a Luna!”
I opened the door to find Silvana, her silver hair wild and unkempt, barefoot, clutching a moonstone staff. Her wolf form flickered unstably – a sign of her supposed “terminal” condition.
“How dare you take all the pack’s resources while leaving the Alpha with nothing? I’ve never seen such greed in a Ex–Luna!” Her voice dripped with venom.
“He chose this,” I replied coldly. “Why does it concern you? If we’re talking about shocking behavior, how about a beta seducing her Alpha?”
Silvana lunged at me with unexpected speed, trying to silence me. The impact sent me stumbling
backward, my spine hitting the stone wall.
Rage surged through my blood. My claws extended as I struck her across the face, leaving four burning marks.
“If I were you, I wouldn’t dare show your face in my territory,” I snarled.
“You… you dare strike me?!”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Storm stepped forward, her imposing form radiating protective fury as she positioned herself between us. “Want more? My claws are happy to teach home–wreckers like you a
lesson!”
Silvana cowered from Storm’s superior strength, her whimpering suddenly ceasing as Thorne’s scent filled the air. She immediately threw herself into his arms.
“My Alpha, reclaim your resources! How can I rest in peace knowing you’ve been left with nothing?” Her voice turned sickeningly sweet. “My heart aches for your suffering.”
She cast a meaningful glance my way. “If you were breaking your mate–bond with me, I would never take everything. I’d suffer myself before seeing you stripped of your power.”
From our many encounters, I knew Thorne couldn’t resist Silvana’s manipulations. Every time she shed tears, his Alpha judgment seemed to vanish like mist.

My Luna,” Thorne addressed me, his voice serious. “Perhaps… you could return two of the dens and
the moon–blessed vehicle?”
He lowered his voice to a whisper. “We’ll renew our mate–bond later anyway. This is just to appease
her.”
Silvana’s eyes flashed with hatred. “Renew your bond? In your dreams.”
“Renew our bond?” I laughed bitterly. “The separation contract clearly states you chose to leave with nothing. You want the dens and vehicles? Not possible.”
Absolutely not!” Storm backed me up. “The pack council has witnessed the agreement.”
“If I were you two,” Storm growled, slamming the den barrier back into place, “I’d be too ashamed to show my face in pack territories. Yet here you are, begging for resources like omega wolves. Come on, Rayne, let’s hunt.”
