The room was a mixed bag of reactions. Leon’s face fell, a pained smile barely managing to stay in place. Narik, always the stoic, maintained his icy demeanor, his gaze betraying nothing. But it was Lorcia’s reaction that stung the most–her eyes blazed with jealousy as she took in the scene.
I was still grappling with the shock of Lorik’s declaration when I noticed that his leg was braced with a crutch, indicating that his recovery was not yet complete. “Lorik, what are you doing here?” I asked, my concern evident. “Your leg isn’t fully healed.”
Lorik’s gaze flicked to Leon, a challenge in his eyes. “What in this world is more important than recovering my Luna?” he replied sharply. The underlying message was clear: his commitment to me- was unwavering, and he was prepared to defend it against all comers.
Lorcia, attempting to exploit their long–standing friendship, stepped forward with a pleading look. “Lorik, we’ve known each other for over ten years,” she said softly, her voice tinged with desperation. “Can’t you find it in your heart to be a little lenient? We’ve shared so much.”
Lorik’s expression hardened. “Lorcia, we’re beyond that now,” he said coldly. “I am with my Luna,
and nothing will change that.”
Her eyes glistened with unshed tears. The force of his rejection was evident, and with a choked sob,
she turned on her heel and fled from the restaurant.
The evening, which had promised to be a pleasant reunion, ended abruptly. I turned to Leon, guilt washing over me. “I’m so sorry for how this turned out. Let me pay the bill.”

His words lingered in the air as we reached the lobby. I made my way toward my car, but Lorik’s
insistence was clear. “I’m driving you home,” he said firmly.
As we reached the car park, a man approached us, his face lighting up with recognition. He was
short, with a plump figure and an anxious expression. “Alpha Lorik!” he called out eagerly. “Do you
remember me?”
Lorik’s demeanor shifted abruptly. The casual, almost affectionate tone he’d used with me disappeared, replaced by the authoritative presence of an Alpha. He surveyed the man with cold scrutiny. “I’m busy at the moment. Please contact Beta for any matters.”
The man’s face fell, but he pressed on, desperation evident in his voice. “Alpha, you must listen to me! I’ve been waiting here for days. If you divest from our team this year, the Sparco Racing Team will go bankrupt.”
The name “Sparco Racing Team” hit me like a bolt. I looked at the man more closely, my mind racing. He was familiar from my past, but I couldn’t immediately place him.
I looked closely towards him, that short stature fat man was now somehow recognisable, he was the
