Andrew’s skepticism morphed into disbelief. He scoffed, waving it off. “You’re bluffing. No one can freeze a deal that big with a simple phone call.”

Lorik’s gaze softened as he glanced at me, his voice firm but filled with an undeniable tenderness. “Sherry is not an outsider. She is my Luna. She’s stood by me during my lowest moments, when I had no one else. She means more to me than you’ll ever understand.”

I pulled myself from his grip, my words flat, almost emotionless. “I’m not marrying anyone.”
His eyes lit up with a spark of hope, and I knew I had to crush it before it grew. “But that has nothing to do with you, Lorik,” I added quickly. “I chose this life for myself. I’m thriving now, with a career I’m proud of. I don’t lack people who admire me, people who pursue me. It’s much better than when
