The OMEGA beside me, clearly more upset than I was, narrowed her eyes, but obediently left the room to summon the guest. Her footsteps echoed in the hallway, and in just a few moments, the door opened again, revealing the actress Callister. She stepped in, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. From the look on her face, it was clear that I wasn’t what she expected. Perhaps she anticipated a jealous Luna, consumed by anger or fear. But instead, I was calm. I even smiled a little, my tone soft but firm.

I casually picked it up, sipping half before answering. “Miss Callister,” I began breezily, “You’re not the first woman to adore Lorik, and you certainly won’t be the last. But you must understand something–if he’s interested in you, I’ll step aside without a fight. You don’t need to come here and provoke me.”
Her confidence wavered for a moment, her composure cracking slightly. She hadn’t expected me to be so indifferent, so unbothered by her presence. She smiled coldly, clearly trying to regain control “Men like Alpha Lorik have many temptations out there,” she began, her voice laced with challenge. “You’re still pregnant, so you shouldn’t be able to handle them well.”
I didn’t need to hear any more. I’d already said what I needed to, and my patience was wearing thin. I thought back to the other women who had tried to climb up using Lorik’s name. They were smarter. They knew when to back off and save themselves the trouble. But Callister–she wasn’t that
clever.
Turning to the servant beside me, I spoke gently. “Please escort Miss Callister out.”
Callister froze. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “What?” she stammered, as if she couldn’t believe I would actually ask her to leave.
The OMEGA, who had been silent the entire time, now stepped forward. She wasn’t one to tolerate nonsense, especially when it involved me. “Get out,” she growled, her voice hard. “And don’t think Alpha Lorik will save you from this.”
Callister scoffed, not believing her. She still thought she had a chance, that Lorik might have feelings for her. But she was wrong.

A week later, news spread like wildfire through the entertainment industry. Callister was blacklisted. Endorsements were canceled one after another, and the TV show she had been filming replaced her with a new lead. Her agent’s phone went straight to voicemail, and no one wanted to be associated with her.
At first, she couldn’t figure out what had happened. She hadn’t realized who she had offended. It wasn’t until she asked around that she learned the truth–she had crossed Lorik, and now she was paying the price. All because she had dared to show up at my door, thinking she could challenge me.
Someone close to her warned, “This isn’t Luna’s doing. It’s the Alpha who’s angry. Don’t even think about begging for forgiveness–it’ll only make things worse.”
Callister was completely frozen. She had underestimated me. She had underestimated Lorik.
It was a chilly autumn night when Lorik returned. The rain had been falling steadily for hours, and the car that pulled into the pack’s estate was soaked, the water gleaming under the soft lights. The driver stepped out, carefully holding an umbrella as he opened the back door.
“Alpha,” the driver said quietly, “we’re home.”
In the dark backseat, Lorik sat still for a moment, his eyes closed. He had just returned from the frontlines, exhausted but tense. He finally stepped out, the cool air brushing against his skin as he walked toward the house. The maids, who had been waiting anxiously, gasped softly when they saw him. But he raised a hand, signaling them to be quiet.
“Don’t disturb her,” he murmured, his voice low. Without another word, he made his way up the
stairs.
The bedroom was dark, and the air was thick with the scent of rain from the open window. I hadn’t been sleeping well lately, the pregnancy making it harder to rest. I stirred in my sleep, half–conscious of the familiar scent that filled the room. Then I felt it–a hand, warm and gentle, resting on my swollen abdomen.
I opened my eyes slowly, and there he was, his dark silhouette against the dim light. Lorik withdrew his hand as soon as he saw I was awake, his gaze softening as he looked at me.
“How’s the baby?” he asked quietly, his voice laced with tenderness.
