We were too close, and even though it was just a pass, it still made me feel slightly uncomfortable.
“That’s enough.” I whispered, drawing my hand back, not wanting the other students to notice the
subtle atmosphere between Lorik and me.
The students below the stage applauded and cheered us, they didn’t expect that on the first day of school, there would be a new student who had the ability to fight Professor Lorik, my name would

Just as I thought the moment had passed, I felt a sharp gaze on me. I looked up and spotted a blonde girl in the crowd, her eyes burning with jealousy. She looked strikingly similar to Lorcia, but younger, her features more delicate.

Lorik’s phone rang, breaking my thoughts. I caught snippets of his conversation with Bata, his tone
sharp and focused. He looked every bit the leader, juggling multiple responsibilities effortlessly.
As I watched him, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of worry. He was so busy, always caught up in work. How did he find the time to teach this class? And more importantly, why?
As if sensing my thoughts, he glanced at me one last time before turning and leaving the classroom.
The moment he was gone, I exhaled, not realizing I had been holding my breath.
His presence was overwhelming, not just because of who he was to me, but because of what he
represented in this place.
The other students had no idea I was his Luna, and I wanted to keep it that way. The last thing I needed was everyone treating me differently because of it.
I walked off the stage, lost in thought as I did so.
Suddenly, someone slammed into me with enough force, and I’d just expended so much energy in sparring that I accidentally slammed into her and fell to the ground.

I looked up to see a blonde woman standing over me, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. Behind her stood my sister, Alice, who looked down at me with a mixture of disgust and disdain.
“My heart twisted at the sight of her, but I forced myself to focus on the immediate threat,

A ripple of whispers spread through the crowd, and I could feel their eyes on us, some curious, others filled with pity or amusement. My stomach churned, but I refused to let it show.
“Before I came here, my sister specifically asked me to keep an eye on you,” Sorcia continued, her eyes narrowing. “You should consider yourself lucky,”
“Lucky?” I managed to say, forcing the word past the lump in my throat.
“Yes,” she hissed, her voice low and menacing. “Lucky that you’re still standing after what you’ve
done. Don’t think for a second that you’re anything more than a pathetic, late–awakened wolf. You’re
nothing.”
I could see the surprise on the faces of the students around us, as they murmured about how a late awakening werewolf was able to fight Professor Lorik for so long.
It was common knowledge among werewolves that the earlier a wolf awakened, the stronger they
were. Late awakeners like me were often considered weak, inferior, and barely worth
acknowledging.
Just as I was about to push myself up, Sorcia moved to strike me again. I braced myself, ready to fight back, when a trembling voice called out, “Please, stop!”
Everyone turned to see a girl with a familiar face stepping forward. It was the girl I had saved
during the street race. She was still dressed in that modest, almost outdated style, and her body
shook with fear as she stood between Sorcia and me.
“Sorcia, please,” she begged, her voice trembling. “Don’t hurt her. She’s my friend..”

Your friend?” Sorcia spat, pulling her hand back as if the girl’s touch had burned her. “You think! care about your little friendships? Pathetic.”
The girl recoiled, tears welling up in her eyes. “But… aren’t we friends?”
Sorcia let out a cold, harsh laugh. “You? My friend? You’re nothing but a late bloomer freak. You’re just a lackey I use to run errands. You think you’re worth more than that?
Tears streamed down the girl’s face, and something inside me snapped. Anger surged through me, fueled by the injustice of it all. Without thinking, I launched myself at Sorcia, shoving her with all my
strength.
Sorcia hit the ground with a startled yelp, her eyes wide with shock. The students around us gasped, their whispers growing louder as they watched, stunned. No one had expected me to fight back.
“Apologize,” I demanded, pinning Sorcia down with my weight. “Apologize to her.”
“Get off me!” Sorcia shrieked, struggling beneath me. “You’re dreaming if you think I’ll apologize!”
She fought against me, but I was stronger, my wolf’s power surging through my veins. She wasn’t used to being overpowered, and panic began to set in. Finally, with a humiliated sob, she choked out, “I’m sorry.”
I leaned in closer, my voice cold as ice. “And for the record, I’m not the other woman. Your sister is the one who’s the third party,”
Before Sorcia, could respond, the freckled girl ran over, her face pale with fear. “You need to leave, now,” she whispered urgently. Sorcia’s boyfriend is on his way. He’s the captain of the baseball team. He’ll kill you!”
“You’re dead!” Sorcia screamed, her voice rising in pitch. “My boyfriend is going to crush you! And my father is on the school board. I’ll have you expelled!”
“Who’s messing with Sorcia?” A loud, furious voice boomed across the training grounds.
I looked up to see a tall, muscular man storming towards us, his face twisted in rage. He was built like a tank, with broad shoulders and a jaw clenched in anger. The students scattered, whispering nervously as they moved out of his way.
“You’re going to regret this,” Sorcia hissed, her eyes gleaming with triumph as she saw her boyfriend approaching.

The man reached us, his eyes blazing as he took in the scene. He saw me holding Sorcia down and hishury reached a boiling point.
He raised his arm, ready to strike me down, but just as his fist came down, it was caught mid–air hy a strong hand.
“Enough.” Lorik’s voice cut through the chaos like a blade. He stood there, his hand gripping the man’s wrist with an ironclad grip. His eyes were cold, his presence commanding absolute silence.
