Chapter 59

Lorik’s cold voice echoed in the grand hall, its icy tone sending chills through everyone present. When we came here, you told me the Yanxin Tribe sent their Beta, and that’s the only reason I agreed to discuss the amusement park project. You deceived me. If you’re worried about Lorcia’s safety, then you can take her back yourself.”

Andrew’s face darkened almost instantly, the tension in the room growing palpable. As Lorik’s harsh

words hung in the air, Lorcia’s face crumbled

Tears welled up in her eyes, and without warning, she burst into sobs, her shoulders shaking

ncontrollably

Seeing her cry, I almost felt a twinge of sympathy, but it was quickly overshadowed by the memory of the countless times she had tried to drive a wedge between Lorik and me. No, I wouldn’t let her tears sway me now. She had orchestrated this, hoping to force us apart, and she deserved no pity

Under the scrutinizing eyes of everyone around us, Lorik tightened his grip on my hand and led me out of the hall. His grip was firm, almost possessive, as if he feared that if he let go, I might slip away

from him

As we passed Narik, Lorik shot him a frosty glare, his eyes full of unspoken warnings

But Narik, ever the rebel, only shrugged indifferently. He seemed unfazed by the tension in the air, as though he thrived in such chaos

Andrew said in a deep voice, Narik, Look at you now, how do you deserve to be one of the Silvermoon heirs? You hurry back with me……‘

Without so much as a glance at his father, Narik pulled on his helmet, hopped on his motorcycle, and sped away, leaving Andrew in a cloud of exhaust fumes

The ride back to the villa was silent. The atmosphere in the car was heavy, filled with unspoken words and lingering doubts

The faint scent of Lorcia’s perfume still lingered in the air, tainting the space around us. It was sweet, almost sickening, and it gnawed at me, stirring a deep sense of unease. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to escape the cloying scent, but it seemed to cling to the very fabric of the car

As I turned slightly, something caught my eye. A small, glimmering object was lying on the seat, catching the light as it reflected off the car’s interior

reached for it, and as I picked it up, I felt a surge of anger rise within me. It was a diamondstudded

piece, unmistakably belonging to Lorcia

This must be her doing,I thought, turning the tiny object over in my hand. The realization dawned on meshe had left it here on purpose, hoping I would find it

Her aim was clear: to spark an argument between Lorik and me, to drive a wedge so deep that it would tear us apart

I smiled faintly, a mixture of frustration and amusement bubbling up inside me. Did she really think something as trivial as this could break us

Without a second thought, I rolled down the window and tossed the nail piece out into the night. It

littered briefly in the moonlight before disappearing into the darkness

Lorik glanced at me, his voice tinged with concern. What’s wrong?”

Nothing,I replied smoothly, though my mind was already racing. I was just clearing up a distraction. My thoughts began to align into a plana way to show Lorcia that her petty schemes

would never succeed

When we finally arrived at the villa, I slipped into a role that had become second nature to methe perfect Luna. I moved with purpose, helping Lorik remove his watch and then his suit jacket

As I did, I subtly inspected his collar and clothes, searching for any sign of betrayal, but there was nothing. No lipstick marks, no lingering scent of perfumenothing to suggest that Lorik had been

unfaithful

His earlier explanation about Lorcia’s advances seemed true. He hadn’t allowed her to get close, hadn’t given in to her manipulations

This realization strengthened my resolve. Lorcia’s plan to drive a wedge between us would fail because Lorik’s loyalty to me was unwavering

Just as I finished, Lorik unexpectedly pulled me into his arms. His scent surrounded me, warm and comforting, and for a moment, I allowed myself to relax in his embrace

It was a rare moment of vulnerability, a brief reprieve from the constant tension that surrounded us

His deep voice rumbled in my ear, soft but filled with a raw honesty that left no room for doubt. When we were going to the amusement park, it was my father who arranged for Lorcia to get into

my car

As soon as she got in, I told her to keep her distance. When she tried to get closer, I pushed her away

Shirley, please don’t abandon me.”

His words caught me off guard, and I stiffened slightly in his arms. Abandon you? When have I ever abandoned you, Lorik? My voice was colder than I’d expected, with a hint of sarcasm that I rarely showed
