I had made arrangements with Evie to get Maddox and Valerie to and from school for me today. straddled Olga and waited for Venom to start his bike. Once he did.. Snake and I started ours, followed by everyone else. I would normally ride with Venom but Axe and I are going to the college to get my schedule and take a tour of the campus.
I made sure I had no courses after three in the afternoon.. I planned on being home every night with my family. And I damned sure am not going to be on the streets of Trenton Falls after dark… even though I don’t fit the profile.
We went to the Black Crows clubhouse first.. pulling into the compound. Members scattered in all directions.. some running inside to the bar. It was comical.
Venom came over and unstrapped my helmet.. kissing me, before taking my hand and leading us all inside.
A handsome young man was sitting at the VIP table.. never bothering to stand and introduce himself.. just looked at us.

I looked around the bar.. Seeing the mole who had been at our claiming.. I said “Would you looky here.. It’s the scunt that alerted this club to my whereabouts.”
Venom’s head swiveled to her and he said “I could kill you.. right now.. for what you did.. and not one of these fake bikers could do a thing about it.”
She ran out of the bar and up some stairs to the side. Venom said “Why yes! We would appreciate some coffee..Thanks for offering.” As he spun a chair backwards and straddled it. Just staring in the man’s face.
The man tried to maintain eye contact.. played his tough guy act.. The entire time Venom’s smirk never wavered. “How’s about we start with what in the actual fuck you were doing in my territory.. accosting my mate.. then graduate to why you are abducting and raping women in your club’s home base town?”
Someone in the back corner of the bar said “We are abducting no one.” And I realized the guy in front of us is not who we should be talking to. Venom mind linked me? I know, baby. I checked out his boots when we walked in. I thought to let them play their game a minute. I am fixing to light his ass up!

The man didn’t respond.. so Venom doubled down.. the guy in front of us was about to feel it. Torin released his aura.. as a physical pall fell across the room Venom said “What in the actual fuck could that guy promise you that would make your want to send your girlfriend into an actual Wolves‘ Den and mess with the Alpha’s mate?”
The guy started sweating.. and squirming.. he lowly muttered “I didn’t know.. we didn’t know.. the Prez said grab her because he wanted to parlay with you and having your woman guaranteed it. I wasn’t told you are wolves. And I damned sure didn’t know she is your mate.”
Venom spat “It’s in the club’s gawddamned name.. you idiots! Taking my mate would have gotten every last one of you morons dead. Sending in one of yours to spy will get you all killed. A parlay can be arranged with a phone call. What your prez wanted was a war. The way I see it.. your president is a worthless coward who is working overtime to see each of his members disemboweled and heads spiked for crows to peck your eyes out.. Snake?”
Snake jumped straight in.. making me aware this is their schtick.. “Yes, Alpha. A fitting finish for the wannabe Black Crows.. eyes eaten by black crows. Some might call it poetic justice. I call it retribution. I will start sharpening some spikes.”
He turned.. like he was walking out the door and the shadow.

man said “Wait. I just wanted to discuss an alliance.” Venom laughed “Well that’s a whole assload of bullshit. Or you are just too stupid to have learned anything about the bikers‘ by–laws. I wonder… Axe! Take a peek at the Club Council’s website.. see if the blackbirds here are registered and recognized as a legit club.”
Shadow man said “We aren’t. Not yet. I am building members before I register. I only have twenty two. I don’t have to register before I have twenty five.”
I said “WOW! You are sadly misinformed. You are supposed to preregister your intent.. before your first member. File your name and location at five members.. then petition for recognition at ten.” Venom was staring at me.. eyes wide “What? I read.. okay?! I read a lot. club by–laws was my first choice after our wedding.”
He busted out laughing and pulled me in front of his backward ass on the chair “My baby.. Never. and I do mean Never.. stop amazing me. I am so impressed with you.. every day!”
I got up and walked back over to stand in front of Axe.. who wrapped his arms over my shoulders in a protective stance.
Venom snarled “Okay.. Shadow man.. we have ascertained you aren’t a viable club.. you play dress up in fancy leathers. And force your men to front for you. We are done here. I am issuing a kill on sight order for all you little wannabe’s.. so don’t even think about crossing past the Kootenai. We could have had a

Venom stood and turned to walk out the door.. I saw a man stand and pull a sidearm from his belt.. raising his arm to fire, I threw my poniard.. pinning his wrist to the wall and making his weapon hit the floor.. all the while, the guy is screaming.
Venom pounced at shadow guy.. Just as he tried to run out the back door. Axe said “Well.. Fuck! This day just went to hell in a handbasket!”
The guy sitting at the VIP table hadn’t moved a muscle.. which struck me as funny as Axe’s words. Snake looks over and asks “Should we unstick the guy on the wall?” Making me actually laugh out loud.
Venom slammed the guy on the floor in front of him.. he stared at him for a few minutes. Then he said “You look too fucking much like him for this to be a coincidence. Snake? This kid look familiar?”
Snake looked at the guy.. “No Fucking Way! Axe.. check it out! Don’t he look like Colonel Richard Slate?” Axe was already running the name and pulling history..
I asked “Care to share with the class, Professor?” Venom laughed “Baby.. it’s nothing for you to worry about.. If this kid is who I think he is.. this shit just got a whole lot of complicated.. and a whole lot simpler. A part of my past before you.”

I asked “Are you in danger?” And he laughed at me again “Nothing I can’t handle.. I got this. You can stop worrying.”
I sneered “Oh. Well good! Great! Thanks for clearing that right the fuck up.. Because I still have no fucking clue what you are talking about!”
He said “Snake.. watch him..” as he walked over and led me outside. He said “I get that you’re upset with my answer.. but never use that tone with me in mixed company. Do not ever thwart my authority. I will tell you what you need to know when you need to know it.”
I looked at him.. bugeyed.. The fuck? I snarled “Fine.. You got it, Master. I will simply not speak to you in mixed company…I didn’t realize marrying you meant I should stop thinking.”
He growled “That kid might be the son of a Colonel I am directly responsible for getting court martialed in Afghanistan.. so, excuse me for not being forthcoming until I know for sure. Happy now?”
I smirked “Imagine being that articulate when you first answered me.. instead of being as obtusely condescending as you were…Talking down to me as if I were a child.”
I climbed on Olga and fired her up.. he yelled “Get off that bike and act like you have a little sense.” I flipped him off and rode
