Chapter 64
“Spill it! What’s really going on between you and the big boss?!” Sherry demanded the moment Olivia walked in. Olivia still hadn’t recovered from the shock of touching her boss’s thigh.“Get me some heart medicine.”
“Don’t change the subject!”
Olivia had no choice but to explain how she met Evan and became his secretary.
Sherry listened, amazed. “Wow, such unexpected coincidences… Is it fate? Is the matchmaker in the heavens choosing your true love?”
Olivia was speechless. First, he’ll never like me. Second, I don’t need a ‘true love. Finally, it’s a strictly professional relationship. He needed a secretary, and I needed to escape Julian’s sphere of influence. That’s all.”
“With a hottie like that around, you can really resist him?”
“Do you think Evan is the type you can just ‘resist‘ and do whatever you want with?”
“The last woman who couldn’t resist him–according to Zach, she even loved him–almost got thrown out of the car for trying to hug him after a long time apart.”
“If I dared to have any inappropriate thoughts toward him, or even touch a hair on his head, he’d drown me in a river.” Sherry paused, then comforted, “Don’t be so pessimistic. You just touched his thigh, and he didn’t do anything to you. Have some faith in your beauty.”
Mentioning it made Olivia’s face burn. “What do you mean I touched his thigh? You pushed me forward; if I hadn’t reached out, my face would have been buried in his…”
“Hahahahaha…” Sherry collapsed onto the sofa, laughing.
After they were done laughing, Sherry was convinced there was nothing between Olivia and Evan.
With Sherry’s help, Olivia showered. It was her fifth day with the injury; the surface wounds had healed.
