“Okay,” Olivia replied, then realized her mistake….I can’t come every day, that would be too much.”
“No need to be shy,” Evan’s voice cut in.
Gary immediately settled it.“It’s decided then. I’ll make extra dishes every day
Olivia was stunned: How did this turn into a daily dinner invitation? Was Evan’s “No need to be shy a comment on how much she’d eaten?
After dinner, Olivia wanted to leave but remembered the unfinished work in the study. She asked, President, can I take the work home?”
Evan:“No need.” Meaning she didn’t need to do it anymore.
“Okay…” Olivia wheeled herself to the study. Evan was momentarily surprised, then chuckled softly.
Olivia finished her work in his study by ten. She was so sleepy, her eyelids drooping
“President, I’m going home now.” She wheeled herself towards the door, yawning repeatedly. The wheelchair veered, bumping into the coffee table; her knee hit, pulling at her wound, instantly banishing her sleepiness.
Evan quickly stood, seeing her grimace.“Pulled your wound?” He crouched, lifting her skirt to check the wound
Olivia winced.“A little. But it shouldn’t have reopened.”
Evan checked; there was no bleeding. His gaze drifted from the wound to her slender, delicate legs, a faint fragrance reaching his nose. He swallowed. A strange itch in his palm. He quickly pulled down her skirt.Tll take you home.”
Olivia wanted to refuse but was already being pushed. They rode in silence.
Evan took her home and left immediately. Olivia watched him go, a little confused.
Her phone rang. Evan was waiting for the elevator. While checking her phone, the elevator arrived.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a drunk Julian, who met Evan’s gaze.
Evan’s expression turned cold. Julian stepped out, grabbing Evan by the collar.“What are you doing at my wife’s apartment? What are you doing here?!”
Hearing the commotion, Olivia wheeled out to see Evan pushing Julian to the ground, waving him off dismissively, giving her a chilling look.“If you allow him into your home, why all the theatrics?”
