Chapter 83
Olivia’s cries were hoarse. Just as she thought she couldn’t escape, someone shouted from outside, “Hey, this isn’t a deserted area. Keep it down, will ya! Think of the single guy“”
Julian stopped, turning to the window, coldly shouting at them to get lost.
Silence fell inside and outside the car. Olivia pushed Julian away. Her lips were swollen, her clothes disheveled. The sight sparked another wave of desire in Julian.
He touched her face. “Let’s go somewhere else.”
Olivia slapped him. “You’re a shameless, despicable bastard! I was blind to be with you!”
Julian’s eyes were bloodshot from her words. “Regretting being with me now? Too late. You’re my woman. As long as I don’t let you go, you can’t leave!”
“You cheated! You ignored me! You hurt me! Why are you still tormenting me? How could you be so cruel?!” Olivia broke down, tears streaming uncontrollably.
“Don’t cry, don’t cry, honey. I’m sorry. It’s all my fault,” Julian’s heart ached.“I deserve to die. I was infatuated. I don’t want to torment you; I just don’t want you to leave.”
Olivia went still, tearfully looking at him.“Will you only stop if I die?”
Julian was speechless, his hand hovering near her cheek, staring at her. He was at a loss for words.
They stared at each other in silence. Olivia suddenly said, I’m hungry. I want to eat something.”
Julian replied, “I’ll go buy you something. Trying to get out, he realized there was nowhere to buy food in this desolate place. And they were out of gas.
Olivia: “My leg isn’t healed, and you hurt it again. I can’t walk.”
Julian got out, locking the car. The nearest convenience store was a half–hour walk. He couldn’t find the store’s number, so he went himself.
Olivia watched Julian walk away. As soon as he was gone, she climbed into the backseat, folded down the back seats, crawled into the trunk, and escaped through the emergency release.
She walked in the opposite direction, walking for twenty minutes until her wound started to ache. She glanced at the nearby mountain.
She’d been sending Sherry her location; perhaps she was nearby. She slowly climbed the slope, hiding in a thicket, calling Sherry and sending her current location.
Sherry said she could be there in 35 minutes, telling her to stay put.
Ten minutes later, she heard footsteps. She tensed up; Sherry couldn’t be here that fast! Who was it?
