Riley’s assistant, Sarah, greeted her. Sarah was petite, in a light blue dress, her hair flowing, looking fresh and elegant.
Riley smiled.“Good morning, Sarah.”
Sarah was captivated by Riley’s smile.
Riley, her hair tied up, wearing a white coat, emerged from the changing room.
“Let’s go, Sarah. What are you waiting for?”
Sarah, startled, smiled.“I still can’t believe my boss is so beautiful…”
Riley was a Harvard graduate. The team was curious about this mysterious partner. They were surprised she was so young.
Riley smiled faintly. She returned a month ago. With the help of her savings and Professor Griffith’s recommendation, she partnered with a fellow alumna, Evelyn Kwan, to open a counseling practice. She came back to find the system. The chances were slim, but it was her only hope.
Riley recalled seeing Chloe’s huge billboard at the airport and smiled. Chloe had become a top actress, thanks to her brother. Now that she was back, she was ready for anything. She was just waiting for someone to come.
That afternoon, Riley’s client arrived. The woman with sunglasses and red lipstick walked in high heels, her wavy hair swaying. It was Chloe.
She took off her sunglasses, revealing her perfectly made–up eyes.
“It’s been a while, Riley.”
“Yeah,” Riley said with a smirk.“You finally came.”
Chloe took a sip of water.“It seems you were waiting for me.”
Seven years hadn’t changed Chloe’s nature; she smiled provocatively.

Chloe grabbed Riley’s hand and slapped her own face. Riley smiled, slapping her hard. When Ethan and Chase entered, they saw Chloe stumbling Hackward.
“Riley!” Ethan rushed forward, protecting Chloe.
Riley didn’t look at him. Her eyes fell on Chase.
‘Riley! After all these years, I thought you’d change!”
Riley didn’t say anything; she just tilted her head. Sadly, she didn’t hear the system’s voice. Ethan’s anger increased. “You’re just mean! Apologize to Chloe now, and I’ll let you come home!” Chloe was surprised, “Ethan!”
“Riley slapped me, and you’ll let her off withjust an apology?!”
Riley smiled faintly.“Ethan, I’ve done well without you.”

Chase and Ethan’s eyes widened. Chloe’s face turned pale.

Riley smirked.“Shan gave
me this recording. She kept it for almost ten years.
Chloe was panicked.“She’s my friend! She wouldn’t give you this! You’re lying?” Chase looked at Riley in disbelief. Ethan clenched his fists.
Riley smiled.“Oh, did you read the article about me? Shan’s brother is my patient. He had a mental breakdown before the college entrance examination. Do you know why? Turns out he got bullied.”
She looked at Chase. Bullying is never harmless. Do you agree?”
Chase trembled. There was pain in his eyes. “Yes…”
A knock came. Riley smiled. I have an appointment with Shan. It’s about her brother. What a coincidence.”
