“Dr. Davis, I didn’t say I’d testify!”

Riley smiled reassuringly. “It’s okay, I didn’t know Chloe would be here. If you’re uncomfortable, wait in the lobby,”
Chloe grabbed Shan’s arm, crying, “Shan, aren’t I nice to you? Why are you framing me?! I have something on you, too!”
he thought she could threaten Shan, but Ethan and Chase looked even angrier after hearing that. And Riley’s smile sent chills down her spine.
Shan stiffened.“But as soon as you became a star, you told me to stay away from you. You said I didn’t deserve to be your friend.”
Chloe scratched Shan’s face. Shan fought back. Sarah, the assistant, rushed in and pulled them apart with Ethan,
Riley found Chase had been looking at her.
“Isn’t this interesting?” She subtly signaled him to take his eyes off her. Chase felt a pang of unease; he preferred her anger over her indifference.
Ethan couldn’t accept this; his face darkened. Then, he left.
“Chloe, I hate being deceived.”
Chloe’s face paled as she rushed out to chase him. She couldn’t even explain. “Ethan!”
Ethan didn’t look back. Chloe’s heart pounded, but she stopped at the entrance of the counseling office. Then, she put on her sunglasses and left.
Upstairs, Riley smiled coldly.
“Ethan’s gone. Aren’t you leaving?”
Chase shook his head.“I…”
Riley smiled, gently pushing him.“Stay outside. I need to work.”
Riley gave Shan a mirror and a wet wipe so she could clean the blood. Shan felt really guilty.
“Dr. Davis, I’m sorry… When I found out my brother had mental illness, I thought of you. This is karma.”
