Chapter 115
I knew them. They were known to grow by the west border of the kingdom. Incredibly beautiful and eye–catching, yet the extract of the flower was used to make wolfsbane. Harmless to other creatures, but pretty lethal to werewolves.
Because of this, it was banned from being sold at the market. Regardless of this, my mom had loved that flower. She even took to secretly growing a
Leve from time to time.
Ponny how I always came across much a flower that could have very well spelt my end.
“Thea”
I turned to see Caroline and Tina making their way towards me. Caroline was Tina’s mother and my aunt. She and my mom had a pretty rocky relationship when she was still alive.
“Aunt Caroline. I didn’t know you’d be coming here.” I said, unable to hold back my surprise.
Caroline hummed out a reply, unable to hide the look of displeasure on her face. Although she was my late mother’s sister, it didn’t mean she had the
same person.
She was a pretty irresponsible Alpha female. A royal but at the same time, a chronic gambler. Most of the inns and major gambling units were familiar with her game. She had made herself known there as a pretty familiar figure
Even Tina herself wasn’t all that fond of hanging around her own mother. Which came off as a hit surprising. It also showed the extent to which Caroline’s character had ruined her relationship with her daughter
“So, how long you been here?” Caroline asked.
“Awhile.” I replied, turning back to the tombstone
I closed my eyes, my head already flooded with different memories I had shared with my mother back when she was still alive.
That moment was shattered when Caroline gently tapped me on the shoulder. I whipped my head towards her, unable to hide my anger and irritation.
“I know this isn’t the right time and I don’t mean to bother, but can you lend me some money?”
When I didn’t reply immediately, she went on with what she’d been saying. “I believe you going back to the pack would be the best thing. Your pack is the richest among others, no? You can’t just say no to me. I really need the money, Thea. You have to understand.”
I sighed. “As much as I would love to help, I don’t have any money right now. Currently, I’m broke.”
Her smile dropped. “You’re kidding, right?”
“No.” I replied drily.
Her face slowly twisted into a grimace. She had probably been thinking she’d be able to get the money from me. It felt oddly good dashing her hopes this way
I wasn’t just some cash cow that she could milk for money however she so pleased. It didn’t make sense for her to do that
“Did you bring these flowers here?” I broke the silence.
Her gaze dropped to the flowers that were neatly laid beside the grave. She turned back to me, a weird glint in her eyes.
“Yes. I brought them here, Thought it’d be nice to honour your mother with such beautiful flowers.” She said.
Thummed, the pieces already fitting in my head. “And how did you get this? Wasn’t it difficult?”
“Oh it really wasn’t.” She smiled. They’re pretty popular if I do say so myself.”

I simply nodded, not replying to that. She didn’t know what the flowers were and was probably saying that to get th

the money from me.
“Oh.” Her lips pressed into a thin line right before she plastered a smile on her face. “That would be so nice of you, Thea. I can’t wait to get the money”
I sent her a small nod and watched as she began making her way past me,
“A loser she wolf like you would never even have the money to support yourself. Talking about giving me the money when you have it. What
Caroline had meant for it to be a whisper but I had beard it pretty clearly. Tina must have heard it as well.
She looked completely furious. She was about to go confront her mom but I grabbed her hand before she could do anything
“Just let it be.” I said to her.
Tina still looked pretty pissed but when she saw the look on my face, she gave in. We talked for some time before I finally bade her goodbye.
The ride home felt indescribably long and all I wanted was to see my baby. By the time I got home, I found her in the garden.
My brothers were watching gover her while she had all the fan she wanted without a single care in the world.
“You’re back” Olavir smiled when he saw me.
