Chapter 120
“You’re not mad?” I asked.
He shook his head. “Why would I be?”
I initially thought he’d be upset when he saw all the things that had been broken but that didn’t seem to be the case. He looked oddly calm for everything that had happened.
The broken things and everything else that had been destroyed hadn’t fazed him as I’d expected. Weird.
“Mody.” He called out.
I turned to see the three women already making their way outside. Mody’s lips were pressed into a thin line as she stopped before us.
“Is it true? Did your cookies make Thea pass out?” He asked in a calm voice.
After a small pause, she slowly nodded her head. I hadn’t expected him to be so polite with her despite
everything that had happened. And yet here he was, being so gentle with her.
“Why did you do that?” He went on.
Mody’s voice cracked just a little. “I didn’t think it would affect her so badly. I initially thought that maybe
she would love the cookies but I hadn’t expected it to make her faint. I’m so sorry.”
I felt a stab of jealousy watching Askhan interact with his sister. Despite what she had done, he was still being so gentle with her.
“I’m not the one you should be saying sorry to.” Askhan turned to me. “Apologize to her.”
I turned to Askhan, unable to hold back my surprise. Here he was, asking her to apologize to me over all
of this.
Mody had an apologetic look on her face as she regarded me. “I’m sorry, Thea. I really didn’t mean for this to happen.”
“There’s really no need to apologize.” I said in a curt voice. “I’ll be leaving here anyway. From now on, be no more than a guest at the palace. You won’t feel obligated or bothered by my presence anymore.”
Askhan looked a bit conflicted at my words but I ignored the look on his face. When I headed back into

the house, Bella was already moving away my things.
She looked all too excited about ordering the maids to move this or push away that. Askhan who had been following right behind me saw what was happening and immediately bristled.
“And who asked you to do that?”
Bella froze, her eyes raising up to meet him. “Well, I-”
“Not another word from you.” He cut her off coldly. “You’re not to say anything else.”
That got Bella to shut up. Askhan regarded her for a while, a harsh look on his face. “Do not ever touch Thea’s things again.”
Mody’s head whipped towards him. “Askhan-”
“The palace would always be prepared for her, and as such, her quarters still remain here. No one–and I mean no one–has the right to try and take that away from her.”
Madison visibly paled at his words. Even if she had something she wanted to say, her lips remained
sealed.
“The Queen Luna had arranged for the selection of the consort. And that means I should have a right to this.” Madison tried to argue.
Askhan sent her a stare. “I’ll go have a word with her about this.”
I was about to say something else when I sighted my brothers entering the palace. Lucian and Noah had
arrived.
“His royal highness.”
There was an air of humour around Noah as he approached us. Askhan’s posture visibly relaxed as my brother made his way towards him.
“Noah.” He turned to the side. “Lucian. Fancy seeing the both of you here.”
“Heard Thea was here and we thought we’d stop by.” Lucian had a smirk on his face when his gaze
wandered to me.
“Oh,” Askhan slowly smiled. “Well I assure you she’s fine.”
Noah simply hummed before making his way towards me. “You’ve got a lot of villas, garden and estates

at home, Thea. This isn’t the only scenery for you, you know.”
A smile tugged at my lips. “I know.”
Noah turned back to Askhan. “And of course, when something has such has happened, I find it to be common courtesy to tell us. After all, we are Thea’s family. We deserve to know whatever happens to
her.”
“Right.” He nodded his head. “You have my apology for that. I guarantee you this kind of thing will not repeat itself again.”
“Let’s hope for your sake, it doesn’t.” Noah added, a knowing look in his eyes as he watched Askhan.
With that, he turned to Mody. The princess who had been watching everything in silence immediately straightened up when she saw that his gaze was fixed on her.
“And what do you have to say about this?”
Mody looked surprisingly pale as she stood before my brother. To me, he usually didn’t hesitate to show his soft side but when it came to any other person, his intimidating aura would immediately be activated.
