Chapter 21
Two years later, at a sacred grove in Norvaria, a mating ceremony was underway. Sunlight blessed Luna Thea’s white ceremonial robes as she faced Magnus, her eyes glistening.
“My love,” Magnus spoke, his voice carrying through the ancient trees. “Three years ago, I swore never to take a mate. Then your parents sought me out for a business alliance. When I saw your image in your mother’s moon crystal, my wolf knew instantly – you were meant to be my Luna.”
“The night you accepted our courtship, I couldn’t sleep. My wolf howled with joy, finally complete – with purpose, love, and hope.”
Thea’s eyes softened as Magnus continued, “I swear by the Moon Goddess, you’ll be my only mate. Loyalty to our bond is the sacred law of the Steele Pack.”
Ten years later, Kieran visited Norvaria on pack business. In his hotel’s dining hall, he spotted them – Thea with Magnus and their nine–year–old daughter, who shared her mother’s features.
The pup was pouting playfully. “Papa, you always favor Mama! You peel her shellfish first, even on my moonday!”
Thea reached to help, but Magnus stopped her gently. “Little wolf, this isn’t favoritism. Your mother’s hands are too precious to risk – they should remain as delicate as moonlight.”
Kieran watched silently as his former Luna glowed with happiness. He slipped away, tears falling freely.
Thea, knowing you live brings me peace. Forgive me. In our next lives, let me be the one worthy of your love.
