Chapter 22
Chapter 22
That evening, after returning home, Thea stood by the window of their pack house, watching the moon rise.
These quiet moments always filled her with gratitude. After the pain of her past with Kieran, she had found not just healing, but true happiness with Magnus.
He had proved himself different from other Alphas – never taking her for granted, always treating her with reverence and care.
Magnus approached from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist. “What’s on your mind, my love?”
“Just counting my blessings,” she replied softly, leaning back against him. “You’ve given me everything I once thought impossible – true love, a beautiful daughter, a real home.”
Her words seemed to make him tense slightly, but she dismissed it as fatigue from his long day managing the pack.
If only she had known that behind his loving facade, guilt and secrets were already eating away at their perfect life.
The illusion of their happiness shattered mere hours later when Emma burst through their home’s doors in tears.
Gone was the playful pup from dinner, replaced by a trembling child who clutched at her mother’s robes.
The sight of her usually spirited daughter in such distress instantly awakened Thea’s protective instincts.
“Mama, please don’t make me go back to Little Alpha Wolf Academy,” Emma begged through her sobs, her small form shaking as she tried to hide her wolf’s tail behind her body.
These private school fees had been a point of tension between Thea and Magnus, but she had insisted on maintaining their daughter’s education despite the pack’s dwindling
resources.
Thea’s gentle demeanor remained, but her wolf stirred with growing concern. As she moved closer to comfort her daughter, the metallic scent of blood reached her sensitive
nose.
With the same careful hands that had been managing pack finances late into the night, she examined her daughter, discovering cruel cuts marking the young wolf’s tail, patches of fur torn away to reveal pink, wounded flesh.
Her hands, which had grown stronger than Magnus knew from bearing so many hidden burdens, now clenched in barely contained rage.
Thea’s eyes, usually soft as moonlight, hardened like ice as she pulled out her phone. Her fingers trembled slightly as she snapped a photo and posted it to the parents‘ group: “Who hurt my daughter?”
“This masterpiece was of course done by my wonderful son. He did exactly what I told him to,” Ashley replied instantly, with an emoji of a wolf squinting in mockery.
“Don’t worry, I have a surprise waiting for you here!” Ashley continued to send messages.
Then came two photos that stopped my heart.
One showed my Alpha at a Luna Ceremony – with her.
The other was a family photo of me, my daughter, and my Alpha.
“Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it? That’s what happens when you steal someone’s Alpha and have his bastard. Consider yourself lucky my boy didn’t do worse. To follow the ancient tradition, my son has the right to bite your punk’s neck.

The group chat exploded. Parents I’d known for months turned vicious, attacking me and my daughter.
Even Mrs. Thompson, my daughter’s teacher, jumped in: “Tyler will become an excellent
Alpha in the future! Ashley! Extra star for him tomorrow”
Ashley couldn’t resist “If you’ve got a problem, come face me. We at school Caless
you’re scared…”
I strapped my daughter into the car and texted my lawyers
“Get divorce papers ready, Use the prenup, I want Magnus out with nothing Tell him to his ass out there and become a rogue wolf immediately! ”
“My daughter was attacked at school, Send a team now. Teach those stupid the ones the lesson they deserve!”
“Can’t believe that leech had a mistress while living off my money,*
“How dare this masked clown, who only masquerades as a successful man because of my family, have an illegitimate child?”
At Alpha Wolf Cub Academy, I found Ashley surrounded by her new fan club.
“Ashley, you’re so modest! We had no idea your Alpha is the Alpha of the Steele Pack!”
“No wonder you always seemed different. That’s real class!”
“We’re all behind you. Can’t let gold–diggers like her win.”
“Right? Tyler’s the real heir to Steele Pack. He has shown leadership skills and a strong body that belongs to an Alpha!”
Mrs. Thompson was practically bowing: “In the future, I will serve Young Master Tyler with all my heart! I will be the exclusive nanny of the future Alpha. ”
Ashley enjoys all the glory that belongs to Steele Pack’s Luna.
So funny. The Steele Pack was indeed once a pack steeped in history and tradition. However, it had already fallen into decline before Magnus took control.
Magnus excelled at crafting the image of a successful Alpha in social settings – with his
16.9%
well–tailored suits, refined manners, and charming demeanor. Yet this was all an elaborately constructed deception.
The Steele Pack had become nothing more than an empty shell. Though Magnus held the title of Alpha, the pack’s operations relied entirely on financial support from Thea’s family pack.
Now Ashley was using it to play queen bee.
When they saw me, their friendly faces turned to distort as if I were some foul–smelling
animal.
Mrs. Thompson stepped forward, ice in her voice: “Emma is expelled. Effective immediately.”
“My daughter gets attacked and you expel her?” I shot back.
“This is an elite school,” she said coldly. “We can’t have our reputation ruined by… certain people. Incompetent pups like her were only worthy of scrubbing toilets for the Alpha in the future and didn’t need to learn the ropes.
My voice went deadly quiet: “You might want to check who the real mistress is before you
talk.”
I didn’t finish. Ashley’s hand cracked across my face.
“How dare you show your face here? Did you think giving birth to that cowardly wolf would make you the next Luna of the Steele Pack?”
