I slowly backed away, keeping a safe distance between both of us

We both turned to Hart at the same time. The five minutes were up and he was letting us know that. We both made our way closer to his computer.
Hart pulled up the address for us to take a look. I’d barely finished reading through it when a look of panic washed over his fare.

I looked around the room innocently before turning back to him. “And yet no one else has been out of this room.”
“No one…” Hart’s voice trailed off for a while before his eyes widened. “That woman that came in here. She was the only other person I noticed.”

My body stiffened as Hart got out of his seat and made his way to Quentin. There was a weird look in his eyes as he stood before Quentin.
“What does this have to do about
at this beautiful Lady? My skills failed us. It wasn’t strong enough.” He let out a breath.
The dangerous glint in Quentin’s eyes slowly reduced. For a brief second, I noticed how they softened just a little.
Without realizing, a sigh of relief left my lips, I turned to Hart in disbelief, wondering why he was helping me.
I had no past affiliations with han neither did he have a single reason to defend me, yet he had done exact that.
Then his gaze shifted to me. I remained rooted in where I stood, unsure of what to do or whether to even move.
Hart slowly made his way towards me, his eyes never once wavering as he did. Slowly, a small smile

“I don’t believe I’ve introduced myself to you. My name’s Hart. I’ll be eighteen soon enough and by then, I’ll have my own wolf and I can choose my mate as well. I was hoping my mate can be you.”
