chapter34.
Nathaniel turned and walked out of the building towards the parking lot.
After getting in the car, Carlos noticed Nathaniel’s displeasure.
“Mr. Beaumont, did the discussion not go

well?”
“What are you so angry about?” Carlos carefully guessed Nathaniel’s thoughts.
“I’m not angry,” Nathaniel emphasized.
“Mr. Beaumont, your anger is quite evident,” Carlos laughed.
“What’s the matter?” Nathaniel asked.
Carlos changed the topic seriously. “The news about the opening banquet has already leaked out. The Beaumont Group has always been interested in ML’s chips, but due to the high price, they have been hesitant to make a move. However, for somet reason, they have been silent even after hearing that we have alternative chips in our hands.”
Upon hearing, Nathaniel’s expression became gloomy.
“They are waiting for me to make the first move. Currently, the
technology industry in Cutas is almost monopolized by the Beaumont Group. They want to swallow up new companies like ours. Don’t worry. Given the current situation of the Beaumont Group, they should be the ones who are anxious.”
Nathaniel looked out the window, suddenly realizing that the place where the car was parked was where he first saw Stella.
At that time, she was arguing with her ex–boyfriend by his car window, and Nathaniel could hear every word clearly.
Jack said she was materialistic and heartless.
Now Nathaniel realized that she was cunning, and he was almost deceived by her.
“Mr. Beaumont?” Carlos called out cautiously to Nathaniel.
“What’s the matter?” Nathaniel withdrew his gaze from outside the car.
“Your phone is ringing,” Carlos pointed to the phone beside him.
Nathaniel picked it up and took a glance. Stella had sent him a
message.
“Are you working overtime today?”
“Sure,” Nathaniel answered without hesitation.
“Alright, then you eat at the company, I have something to do anyway,” Stella replied.

Where did she go after work instead of going home?
He remembered the words of his colleague, Stella. Stella couldn’t bear to part with Jack, like a pair of worn–out shoes she had worn for three years.
Nathaniel wondered if she had gone to find Jack.
Nathaniel replied with a serious face, “I’m too busy with work, I’ll eat later when I get home.”
“Alright then.”
The conversation came to an end, Nathaniel put his phone back into his pocket, noticing Carlos’s strange expression.
“What’s wrong?” Nathaniel asked.
“Mr. Beaumont, it has happened several times now,” Carlos said solemnly.
“What?”
“You’ve frowned several times today. Who on earth is so powerful that they can affect your mood?”
Carlos has followed Nathaniel from abroad to their home
country for many years. Besides their working relationship, they are more like friends.
Nathaniel glanced at the car window glass, only to realize that he

But soon, he regained his aloofness, looking at Carlos and calmly saying, “It’s okay.”
Carlos laughed, “Impossible. You are all…”
Nathaniel said, “Hmm?”
Carlos coughed once. “It’s okay. Let’s go back to the company first.”
Nathaniel hummed in agreement, leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed, yet he couldn’t find peace.
Stella, seeing that Nathaniel had not responded to her messages, boarded the subway to the hospital.
She wondered why he was unhappy again.
His thoughts are really hard to guess.
On her way to the hospital, Stella’s phone received many calls from unfamiliar numbers.
She knew it must be Jack. She had blocked all his numbers.
At the hospital, Heilyn informed Stella of Diane’s condition today, then took out Diane’s lab report for today and relayed the doctor’s words to Stella.
“Ms. Edwards, rest assured. The doctor said Diane’s condition

hasn’t worsened, she meets the criteria for surgery, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, she should be able to make it through the operation.”
“Thank you.”
Stella let out a sigh.
Afterwards, she ordered
