chapter4.
Jack, nearly collapsing, cursed Stella out loud at the scene.
But Stella didn’t know why the police came, she just took the opportunity to ask the wedding planner to play that video.
The room went dead silent.
Everyone saw Jack and Bonnie in the car, with the footage clearly revealing them making love.
When the wedding planner saw that everyone had mostly watched, he hurriedly came out and apologized, saying, “I’m really sorry. I played the wrong video.”
Although they had received a warning from the police, nothing serious happened.
But Jack and Bonnie’s reputations? Completely ruined.
As soon as Bonnie saw the video, she fainted and had to be carried out.
Jack, who had been so arrogant before, completely shrank into silence after seeing the video.
While Jack was being put into the police car, he even sent Stella a message asking where she was.
chapter4.
Stella was now at the place Jennifer had told her to go.
2/7
It was a fancy restaurant, very elegant with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a wall covered with fresh flowers, and soft background music swirling around the room.
A sign at the entrance announced its name: [Golf Social Club.]
Is this a blind date event? What’s all this about? Why did Jennifer ask me to get here?
Just as she wondered, a hand pulled her behind the greenery.
“Stella,” a familiar voice purred.
“Mrs. Wallace?” Stella queried.
Jennifer, pulling off her sunglasses, let out a throaty chuckle.
“Stella, congratulations on breaking up with that jerk! Just think about it, Jack should have been arrested by the police by now!”
Turn out to be, the truth was that Jennifer accidentally saw Jack bought a luxury car a mouth ago, but he usually wore fake brand–name clothes.
Jennifer was worried, so she investigated and found out that Jack had secretly sold the house left to Stella by her father.
Stella remembered that a month ago was exactly when her mother suddenly fell seriously ill.

Jack insisted on buying a specific car before their wedding, and Stella hadn’t agreed to it. That car would cost a huge expense for
her.
But Jack still took it back and even secretly bought the house with Stella’s authorization.
Clearly, Jack’s love was just as fake as himself. He was keeping her on the bench while eyeing a better deal.
“Ms. Wallace, thanks,” Stella said.
“You’re welcome. And, will you mind doing me a small favor here?”
“Here, what are you doing here? Are you here for a blind date?”
“Come on. I’m not finding a man to muddle my life. It’s my stubborn son. I had a hard time convincing him to go on this blind date party, but now someone is ruining it. I need your help.”
“Relax. Which one’s your son?”
“Second table by the window, black shirt. That’s my Nathaniel, Nathaniel Beaumont. He’s 30, six–foot–two, a bit bland but a looker. He’s…”
“Alright, alright. Hold up, I see him. No need for the entire rundown.” Stella cut her off. She peeked through the leaves and saw a man by the window, his back facing her.

Even without seeing his face, his posture radiated an icy, intimidating air. A firm hand, etched with strength, cradled a champagne flute, bubbles twinkling against his rugged fingers. His profile, chiseled and serene, was reflected in the glass pane.
Across from him, a woman in a one–shoulder dress sat, her beauty marred by her sneering expression.
Her arched eyebrows and sarcastic smile showed harshness, a stark contrast to his calm demeanor.
Seeing this, Jennifer nudged Stella.
“Stella, I need you, please. Can you help me send that woman away?”
Looking into Jennifer’s pleading eyes, Stella had a hard time saying no.
“Okay, but… How can I get into an event like that? This is a private club.” Stella gestured at the fancy venue.
“No worries. Take this.” Jennifer gave her a card. The corner of it was decorated with an orchid. “Show this if anyone stops you, they’ll let you in.”
Stella was a bit hesitant but after a few seconds, she agreed and took over the card.
Stella entered the hall. She was halted by a courteous waiter.

She flashed her orchid card and he smiled immediately. He stepped aside, gesturing respectfully. “Please, come in.”
“Thanks.”

What an attitude shift! This card was powerful. Is Jennifer vvvip of this place?
Stella tucked the card safely in her bag. As she moved to the window she heard a sharp female voice.
“Who the hell do you think you are? I’m a millionaire, and you’re just a code monkey earning 20k a month driving a sh*tbox VW. Your face got you a chance to buy me a drink but you blew it! Apologize now or I’ll make sure no one here dares to talk to you. Good luck wasting your membership fees!”
The woman ended her speech with a scornful laugh, but her eyes stayed hungrily on the man’s face. Her fingers flirtatiously twirled her brown curls.
Feeling the tension rise, Stella quickly stepped in, trying to calm the situation.
“I dare.”
“I dare to talk to him. Lady, if you have a problem with his earnings, you could just…”
While talking, Stella glanced at Nathaniel but choked on the word “leave“.
chapter4.
His good look took her breath away.

Nathaniel’s eyes twinkled like stars, suggesting a certain charm. Stella’s heart skipped a beat the moment their eyes met.
He was extremely attractive, giving off a strong masculine aura, with no sign of softness. His standout looks made him seem aloof as if just one frown from him could make anyone surrender.
Nathaniel glanced at Stella; he blinked.
Well, well. What a coincidence. Isn’t this Ms. Gold–Digger who has always been around his mother? And now, she’s on a blind date party.
Nathaniel’s gaze gave Stella a weird feeling. She wondered if he somehow knew her.
The woman across the table noticed Nathaniel’s attention on Stella and stood up in anger.
“What? Now you’re interested in her? She looks so poor. Are you
blind?”
Nathaniel laid back and his gesture made him seem dangerous. “Well, at least she doesn’t bark.”
Stella blinked. Wait… This sounds weird. Did he just….
The woman’s face turned pale. She stood up abruptly and

“How dare you! Do you know who I am?! Just wait here and I’ll find someone to kick your *ss!”
She huffed and stomped out, deliberately pushing Stella aside and shooting her a fierce glare.
Stella stumbled, clutching the table to steady herself, and felt Nathaniel’s gaze. She was about to explain to him when Jennifer quickly sat down beside her.
And Jennifer suddenly asked her, “Will you consider marrying my son instead?”
Wait.
What?
