Stella put down the shower head and continued brushing her teeth, suddenly feeling a pain in her lips.

She looked up at the mirror and found her mouth was busted,
Looking at the bright red wound, she inexplicably thought of the scene from last night where she and Nathaniel had fallen to the ground.
Suddenly, her face turned red again.
She forced herself not to overthink.
Stella spat out the toothpaste in her mouth, continuously splashing cold water on her face, finally managing to calm down.
She took a deep breath, smiled at the mirror, and turned into the kitchen.
When she put on the apron, she found that the dishes in the sink had also been washed clean.
Although they were just living together, Nathaniel was very good to her.
He was much more trustworthy than many men, which even made her feel that living this way wasn’t too bad.
Stella opened the refrigerator with a smile, preparing for today’s breakfast.

She is preparing to make a small pizza.

This is actually Diane’s favorite breakfast to make for her, it can make her happy all day.
After serving breakfast, she began preparing today’s lunch.
She always had the habit of cooking for herself, but it was not very convenient while living at Nathaniel’s place recently. She had already overspent her living expenses for the month and had to save a bit more.
She made too much lunch, but it was also made from discounted ingredients she bought from the supermarket yesterday. If she doesn’t eat it tonight, it probably won’t be fresh anymore.
She thawed the beef and thawed too much, it wouldn’t be fresh anymore if she froze it back.
In the end, she made soup again.
She hadn’t cooked for over a month and felt that her culinary skills had regressed.
Stella stared at the food in front of her. She couldn’t possibly eat all of it.
The rest was just wasted.
She just said she wanted to save, but now she’s wasted it all.
She caught a glimpse of the blue lunch box next to her. It wasn’t

something she had bought on purpose, but rather something she had picked up during a supermarket sale.
She thought she would save the rest for Nathaniel’s lunch.
Anyway, he didn’t know this was the leftover food.
Moreover, his company is in the city center, and the cost of lunch is quite high.
Driven by a mindset of not wasting, Stella put the remaining food into his lunch box.
She felt that the food was a bit less, so she evenly distributed it between the two of them. She thought that Nathaniel was a man, so he could eat a little more.
Nathaniel didn’t seem to like greasy food, so she didn’t give him too much beef.
Stella added a bit more shredded beef into her own lunch box.
He must not like eating beef, not because she likes it.
She was busy when she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. In a flurry, she quickly covered the lunch box and put it into the bag.
Why is she feeling guilty?
After preparing, she walked out of the kitchen with the oatmeal.

“Good morning, Mr. Beaumont.”

Nathaniel slowly sat down, his expression still very calm. But his face was handsome, and Stella couldn’t help but look at him for a while longer.
She was afraid of the hot situation from last night, so she quickly lowered her head and gave the oatmeal to Nathaniel.
“Let’s have breakfast. The pizzard today won’t be salty.”
“Um, thank you.”
Nathaniel’s politeness made Stella feel comfortable, feeling that at least her efforts were recognized.
Nathaniel leisurely took a bite of oatmeal, finding it quite delicious.
He tasted the pizza again, feeling that it indeed had improved from last night’s texture.
Stella’s pizza tastes better than Jennifer’s.
Although it was just a simple breakfast, he had to admit that Stella’s cooking skills were impeccable.
Nathaniel couldn’t help but look at Stella. Her attire hadn’t changed, her makeup–free face was flushed, making the freckles on her nose more noticeable, yet it looked somewhat playful.

“Are you hot?”

“Huh?” Stella said somewhat guiltily, explaining, “The kitchen is too hot.”
“Mmm.”
Nathaniel looked towards the kitchen. He couldn’t cook, he had no idea cooking could be so hot.
Under his gaze, Stella said, “I’m full, I’m going to work now.”
Nathaniel nodded lightly. “Hmm, I’ll wash the dishes later.”
“Okay.”
Stella rose and went into the kitchen to bring out two servings of lunch.
“Living expenses are quite high there, aren’t they? I’ve made lunch. If… if you don’t like it, you can buy something else to eat.”
She put down the blue bag and turned to leave.
Before putting on her high heels, she carefully wiped the surface of the shoes with a polishing cloth, showing a special cherish.

Nathaniel was just about to say thank you, when he deep affection for an old pair of shoes, he was reminded of what his colleague Stella had said.

These high heels were a gift from Stella’s ex–boyfriend, and she wore them for a full three years.
Among the women Nathaniel knew, there was no one who wore a pair of shoes for three years, especially when the shoes were already a bit worn out.
It’s evident how much Stella loves Jack.
If she loves Jack so much, why did she marry Nathaniel? Did she do it for the money?
Stella politely said, “Goodbye, Mr. Beaumont.”
Nathaniel’s face was gloomy, he nodded and said nothing.
Stella was puzzled. His mood changed so quickly.
But his personality was just so aloof.
She didn’t ask much, hurriedly left the door, fearing she wouldn’t catch the subway.
Nathaniel heard the sound of the door closing, and his appetite disappeared. He carried his dishes into the kitchen, immediately feeling a wave of cooking fumes hit his face.
Even with the window open, the heat was still stifling.
He furrowed his brow, placing the utensils from his hand into the sink to wash.

As he prepared to wipe the counter, he found that Stella had already cleaned it up. She had only asked him to wash the dishes.

He listened to the sound of the water, unable to fathom Stella’s thoughts for a moment.
