After Stella spoke, Jack was very angry.
“Stella, you’re talking nonsense.”
“Then I will show you the proof.”
Stella sent a screenshot of her chat with her colleague Jack to the group through Christina’s account.
Of course, the names and pictures of Jack’s colleagues were blurred by her.
The evidence was irrefutable. Jack remained silent for a long
time.
Stella continued, “Let me clarify. I’m doing well after my marriage. I don’t need everyone to be so concerned. Thank you.”
Jack couldn’t hold back anymore, he said sarcastically, “You’re fine? Stella, I know you too well. You’re always trying to act tough, there’s no shame in that, you don’t need to lie. Could everyone else be wrong?”
At this moment, Sandra appeared again.
“Stop arguing, both of you. Stella, we’re just feeling sorry for
you. I’m sorry if we upset you. If you really want Jack to give up, why don’t you have your husband bring you to the office

Stella wanted to say something, but in the end, she held back, turned around, and handed the phone back to Christina.

Nathaniel won’t agree.
Stella walked into the office, and everyone simultaneously looked up at her. Presumably, everyone knew about her conversation with Jack.
Everyone’s gaze was filled with pity, sympathy, and disdain.
Sandra stood up, her face filled with difficulty. “Stella, Jack said he’s coming over first thing tomorrow. I tried to persuade him, telling him that you’re at a crucial point in your promotion. But he wouldn’t listen, even saying that he won’t leave until he sees your husband. Please agree to it. Actually, everyone is quite worried that you’re being taken advantage of.”
Stella looked at Sandra with a furrowed brow.
Indeed, the Price family took turns to pester Stella and they got Sandra’s help.

Stella was just about to refuse Sandra when Harley came out from the office inside.

“Okay.”
Stella’s refusal was something she didn’t manage to voice out. She quickly stepped into Harley’s office.
Harley stood with his hands behind his back, an expression of impatience on his face.
“Are you married?”

“Yes.” Stella was somewhat surprised, she didn’t expect Harley
to know.
Harley said impatiently.
“Since you’re married, behave yourself!”
“This is a company, not a place for you to handle personal matters. How did your ex–boyfriend’s mother even cause a scene at the company? If it weren’t for the security guard stopping her, she would have definitely come upstairs, which would have negatively impacted our company.”

“Same as always. You guys are making a ruckus in the office early in the morning. The whole building knows about your
affairs.”
Stella was pale, but she still managed to steady her emotions and explain.

“Harley, the reason for this morning was because of Sandra…”
“What’s wrong with Sandra? She has someone to help her. Do you? She knows the boss of Dalla Technology Group, do you? You have nothing and yet you want to compromise! The company wants results, they don’t care about your conflicts.” Harley said unhappily.
“I…I understand now.”
Stella pursed her lips, knowing that no matter what she said, Harley wouldn’t listen.
However, Harley was right about one thing. She had nothing.
She was just an ordinary worker, she couldn’t argue with him for the sake of her salary.
Harley pointed at Stella. “If your personal matters continue to affect your work, don’t blame me for not warning you!”
Stella could only nod. “Yes.”
Harley didn’t say anything more, waving her off.

Stella turned and left the office.
Soon, Sandra was also called into the office by Harley.

But when she came out, she had a smile on her face, showing a sense of determination to win. It was clear that Harley was more
inclined towards her.
Stella and Sandra exchanged a glance, then immediately
lowered their heads to continue working. Stella absolutely could not be disturbed.
This time, Stella is determined to secure the promotion and
raise.
It was soon time to finish work. Usually, Christina was the most eager to leave, but today she was still sitting at her desk, looking at her phone.
Stella tidied up the desk as she reminded, “What are you looking at? It’s time to get off work.”
Christina suddenly stood up and rushed to Stella’s side.
“Stella, look. Jack is really out of line! He actually said that
you’re delirious and talking nonsense because your mother is
sick.”
“He was clearly the one talking nonsense.”
Jack’s colleagues must have spread the news about Jack pestering her throughout the company.

Jack, being so vain, certainly couldn’t stand being the topic of discussion among his colleagues, which is why he would make a big deal out of it.
But Stella hadn’t expected Jack to be in the group. Now, things had become even more complicated.
Harley has shown up. If Stella can’t resolve this quickly, her promotion will definitely be affected.
“Stella, are you also upset? Have your husband bring you here tomorrow. Even if your husband is average–looking, at least he can shut Jack up, so he won’t go crazy in the group.”
Christina’s words awakened Stella.
If Nathaniel could appear and dispel Jack’s entanglement, it wouldn’t be impossible.

“Fine, I can’t stand it. If I were you, I would never marry Jack either,” Christina said angrily.
“Let’s go.”
Stella led Christina downstairs. All the way, people around them were staring at them.
Stella was unconcerned, contemplating how to secure a collaboration with Dalla Technology Group.

Stepping into the subway, she and Christina happened to be going the same way, so they rode together.

“Stella, why are you heading this way? Aren’t you going to the hospital?”
“I need to make some changes to the proposal from Dalla Technology Group, so I told Heilyn that I won’t be going today. Besides, my mom is about to have surgery soon, so I need to finish my work as soon as possible.”
Christina nodded, pointing to the sign overhead. “Where are you getting off?”
Stella pointed to the middle of the road. “Clyrence Road.”
Christina looked at her in surprise.
“Clyrence Road? Your husband’s house is there? The houses there are so expensive, the cheapest ones are over four million dollars!”
“He bought it on loan. He’s still paying it off now,” Stella explained.
“Then you must be under a lot of pressure.”
“It’s okay.”
Once Stella gets promoted, things should get easier for them.

Even without mentioning the mortgage, at the very least, she could help Nathaniel by taking on some of the responsibility of caring for Jennifer.
Christina clutched her bag, her eyes fixed intently on Stella.
Stella asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Stella, I’m even more curious about your husband now. He looks unique, his salary isn’t very high, and he still has to pay the mortgage. I haven’t seen him treat you particularly well either. Yet, you still think he’s okay. What kind of man is he really?”
