chapter51.
The next morning, Stella opened her eyes to find it was already eight o’clock, which nearly scared her off the bed.
She quickly got up and washed up. As she hurriedly ran towards the door, Nathaniel, dressed in a black suit, walked out of the room, still as handsome and upright as ever.
Looking at him, Stella came up with an idea.
Nathaniel has a car and can drive her to the office, which is definitely faster than her taking the subway.
Not only would Stella never be late, but Nathaniel’s presence would also stop Jack and the others from gossiping about her.
She thought: Could this be God helping me?
Stella stood in the foyer, hesitating before finally voicing her question.
“Mr. Beaumont, could you give me a ride to the company on your way? I can’t afford to be late again this month.”
Nathaniel’s hand paused as he was tying his tie, his face gloomy.
He thought: So, has Stella decided to use me to provoke her ex–boyfriend after all?

Nathaniel looked at Stella, his gaze falling on the pair of high heels by her feet, his expression as indifferent as ever.
“Okay.”
He also wanted to see what she would ultimately do.
“Thank you.” Stella said, quickly putting on her shoes after expressing her gratitude.
On the road, Nathaniel’s car was moving fast, and in no time, they were almost at her office.
She didn’t know why, but the closer she got to the company, the more nervous she became, involuntarily clutching her bag tighter.

Stella couldn’t help but blame herself internally: Stella, Nathaniel kindly drove you to work, yet you took advantage of him. How is your behavior any different from Jack’s?
Moreover, Jennifer treats you like her own daughter, and when you were at your most difficult time, she arranged for Nathaniel to marry you and even gave you five hundred thousand dollars.
“Pull over!” Stella couldn’t stand the condemnation of her
conscience anymore.
She didn’t need to involve Nathaniel just to provoke Jack.
She felt that Jack was nothing, he was not worthy!

Nathaniel furrowed his brows, but still parked the car on the
side.
“What’s wrong? Your company is just ahead.
He thought: Isn’t this what Stella wanted?
”
“I’m inviting you for breakfast. The sandwiches at this place nearby are really delicious. I’ll go buy some.”

After speaking, Stella quickly got out of the car and ran to the entrance of the breakfast shop. She bought two sandwiches and two cups of milk, then returned to the car and opened the door.
“Mr. Beaumont, the company is just ahead. You don’t need to escort me further, I can walk there myself. Breakfast is in the passenger seat, remember to take it.”
Nathaniel glanced at the breakfast, turned off the ignition, and lazily leaned against the car door. The sunlight on the glass just swept across his eyes, his glass bead–like eyes swaying like a cold spring.
“Stella, do you think I would believe? Speak clearly.”
Stella paused for a moment, sighed, and got into the car.
“Actually… my ex–boyfriend is waiting up ahead for me to bring you there. He doesn’t believe that I could get married so quickly, and insists on getting back together with me. I’ve been bothered by him for several days now.”

“I originally thought that if you were late to send me today, it could conveniently make him give up. But I know there are many people waiting ahead, you won’t like it.”
“Mr. Beaumont, I’m truly sorry, I almost caused you trouble.”

Hearing this, Nathaniel’s face wasn’t as cold anymore, instead, he looked at her with scrutiny and doubt.
“Do you not want to get back together with him?”
“I don’t want to.”
“Do you not want to?” Nathaniel asked seriously, with an intimidating aura.
“I don’t want to.” Stella shook her head.
“Fasten your seatbelt.” Nathaniel started the car in a leisurely
manner.
Stella was taken aback: “Are you really going to send me away?”
Nathaniel said indifferently, “What else? Should I let my wife continue to be bothered by her ex–boyfriend?”
