James hand trembled with rage as he held. both the pregnancy test report and the abortion record.
He roared, “Useless! Are you telling me that you still haven’t found anything?”
“Mr. Stork, we’ve investigated every person in Miss Lane’s social circle, but we don’t
find any men that have been remotely close to her, except…”
“Tell me!” James ordered.
The bodyguard glanced up and looked at the furious James, but for some reason the word “you” got stuck in his throat. He didn’t dare say it.
James, already frustrated with the
bodyguard’s hesitation, kicked him
impatiently.
“What’s there to hesitate about? Just say it!” he yelled.

James hand trembled with rage as he held both the pregnancy test report and the abortion record.
He roared, “Useless! Are you telling me that you still haven’t found anything?”
“Mr. Stork, we’ve investigated every person in Miss Lane’s social circle, but we don’t find any men that have been remotely close to her, except…”
“Tell me!” James ordered.
The bodyguard glanced up and looked at the furious James, but for some reason the word “you” got stuck in his throat. He didn’t dare say it.
James, already frustrated with the
bodyguard’s hesitation, kicked him
impatiently.
“What’s there to hesitate about? Just say it!” he yelled.

Although the kick was painful, the
bodyguard endured it. As a result, his face was covered with cold sweat. Under James’s piercing glare, he had no choice but to continue his words, “Except….”
Jane, who was standing nearby, clutched her fists tightly as jealousy flashed in her
eyes.
James might not understand, but Jane, as a woman, had already figured it out that the man who promised to marry her once she returned to the country had slept with his own sister–in–law!
Had it not been for the scandal spreading everywhere, Jane would not have planned to return so soon. She had assumed that her presence in this place would be enough to push Sandra aside.
However, she was wrong. No one could
predict that James and Sandra would sleep
together and even have children between the two of them.

From her understanding of James, if Sandra had confronted him immediately. after she knew she was pregnant, he would have paid her to settle this matter.
Instead, she silently aborted her child and left the country. Her act inevitably would trigger his sense of guilt and make him feel responsible.
This kind of thing was not something Jane would ever allow to happen.
“James, who else could confess his love to Sandra but the man who kidnapped me that day?” she said.
Then she pressed on, “Think about it… if they weren’t close, why would he risk kidnapping me for her?”
Then she made a killing move. “If the hired thug meant to hurt me, you’d have found evidence of her making a large payment. However, I bet that you won’t find any. That man listens to her because they‘ re close… really close!”

The bodyguard, catching her cue, immediately added, “Mr. Stork, Miss. Lennox is right. Miss Lane has kept her distance from all other men. Even those
who tried to pursue her, she will respectfully keep her distance and never let them have the opportunity to get close
to her.”
James’s face turned dark when he remembered the man who fled the scene that day and smelled like cigarettes,
Sandra, the woman he had protected and cherished would never choose that kind of
man!
There was only one possibility left which was that the man had violated her and she had used her pregnancy as leverage to have him kidnap Jane.
Just the thought of another man laying his hands on Sandra and humiliating her made a wave of uncontrollable fury rise within James and blinded by the rage inside of him, he swept everything off the desk,

“Search every inch of this city and find that man for me! Once you find him, keep him under watch until I return to handle it myself!” James hollered.
“Make sure t to check if there have been any large transactions on Sandra‘ s card!”
The bodyguard, relieved to escape, quickly set off to investigate.
However, what they discovered was not a large expense on the card. Instead, there had been a significant amount of deposit added there.
When James looked at it, he realized that Sandra had fled to Africa alone. Immediately, he felt a weight lift off his shoulder. He then grabbed his ID card and passport and got ready to go to the airport.
Seeing the flight details on the phone, Jane forced out a sweet smile and coiled her body across his tightly.

“James, Sandra is still a young woman and inexperienced, you shouldn’t be angry with
her.”
Even though she tried to provoke him with her words, he did not have any reaction.
Instead, he became annoyed and pushed her away, “It’s already so late. Is it really the time to do this?”
The disgust was clearly visible in his eyes turned her flirtatious gaze into shock and her face turned pale.
“Cancel the engagement party for tomorrow. We’ll deal with it after I bring Sandra back,” he declared.
Although Jane did not want James to go to Africa to find Sandra, she did not know
what to tell him.
So, she said, “Let me go with you. Sandra is a young woman. I think there might be things she will not be comfortable
discussing with you. I can help you talk to her.”
