In a soft whisper, she spoke into his ear, “Everett, do what you want, but I’m telling you now, I won’t be taking any pills afterward. If there’s a baby, I’m keeping it.”
She wasn’t bluffing. She had made up her mind to leave Everett, but if a child was involved, she was determined to have it. Keeping the child wasn’t off the table.
