Panic seized me, my hands trembling as I tried to comfort my son. Tears filled my eyes, my heart pounding in my chest, fear creeping through me. “It’s okay, baby, it’s okay.” I said, though I wasn’t sure if I was trying to reassure him or myself. Blood was trickling down from his head and his arm, and I could see the fear in his eyes.
“Sebastian, we need to get to the hospital.” I said, holding my son.
Tristan, it’s okay. You are going to be okay.” I kept saying to my son, “Stay with me, okay?” I continued, holding back my
Tears.
Sebastian was already on it. He pulled out his phone and called for help, his voice calm but urgent. “We need an ambulance Now” He ordered quickly.
Within minutes, paramedics arrived, and we were rushed to the nearest hospital. The ride felt like an eternity, my heart breaking at the sight of Tristan’s pale face. Mary held Bridget, who was holding Tristan’s hand through the drive, looking at him. Constantly asking Mary whether he is going to be okay?. Mary kept assuring her that Tristan will be fine and okay.
At the hospital, the doctor, Dr. Marshall, met us. He examined Tristan thoroughly, his expression serious but calm. “He has some minor wounds, but nothing too serious,” Dr. Marshall finally said, offering a reassuring smile. “We’ll clean and bandage him up, and he’ll be just fine.”
Relief washed over me, but it was mingled with lingering fear and anger. This wasn’t a normal accident. Someone attacked
Who could have done this? Who would target us like this?
“Who would do this?” Mary asked, her voice trembling
“I don’t know,” Sebastian said, his jaw clenched. “But I’ll find out. He said.
Im going to find out who did this,” He added with his eyes dark with determination. “I promise you, Adeline.” He promised.
I nodded, my throat too tight to speak. Instead, I focused on Tristan, holding his uninjured hand and whispering soothing words as the doctor treated him. Bridget clung to Mary, her eyes wide with fear, and I could see Mary doing her best to comfort her.
Sebastian stepped out to make some calls, his face set in a grim line. I watched him go, grateful for his support and determination. He had always been my rock, and now, more than ever, I needed him.
As the evening wore on, Tristan began to perk up, with the pain medication doing its job. He smiled weakly at me, and I felt tears prick my eyes. “You’re so brave, Tristan,” I whispered, kissing his forehead.
“Will we be okay, Mommy?” Bridget asked, her voice small and scared.
“Yes, sweetheart,” I said, pulling her into a hug. “We’re going to be okay. I promise” I said.
When Sebastian returned, he sat beside me, his expression softer but still serious. Tve got people looking into it. We’ll get to the bottom of this. He informed me.
“We have to be careful,” I said, my mind racing. “We can’t let this happen again.”
“We won’t,” Sebastian promised, his eyes meeting mine with unwavering determination. “I’ll make sure of it
“Thank you, Sebastian,” I said, my voice shaking slightly. “I don’t know what I would do without you.” I said, my tone filled with genuine gratitude.
“We’re in this together,” he replied, taking my hand. “We’ll get through this, Adeline. I promise. He assured me.

I and my beta, Damien, were in the neighboring city for an emergency business meeting with Harrell Inc. regarding ant error in the recent contracts. It had been long and exhausting, and I desperately needed a break. I decided to stop by a nearby café, hoping a strong cup of coffee would clear my mind
“These Harrells are a pain in the ass, Damien muttered while sitting down opposite me.
I nodded, agreeing. As I sipped my drink, my thoughts wandered back to Adeline and the night we had spent together. The memory was a a constant shadow, haunting me every moment. That night we spent together plagued me–her touch, her voice, the way she made me feel–it was all too vivid.
Her thoughts always bounced back, no matter how hard I tried to push them away.
It always made me wonder, Where is she was now? What was she doing?
Feeling restless, I finished my coffee and stood up. “Finish your drink and meet me in the parking lot.” I said and made my
way to the car.
As I approached, a sweet, innocent voice caught my attention. I turned to see a little girl, no older than four or five, standing in front of a toy store. She was utterly adorable, with black hair and striking gray eyes. She seemed puzzled, standing there with a confused expression as she looked at the toys displayed in the window

She looked up at me with those big gray eyes, and I immediately noticed a small mole under her left eye, like a beauty spot. making her look even more adorable. She hesitated for a moment, then pointed at the toys. “I want to buy a gift for my brother,” she said in the cutest voice I’d ever heard. “But I don’t know what to choose.”
“Your brother’s in the hospital?” I asked, my heart warming at her concern.
She nodded with a serious look on her little face. “Yes. He got hun, and I want to get him something to help him feel better.”
“That’s very thoughtful of you” I said, smiling. “What’s his name
“Tristan,” she replied. “He’s five, like me, We’re twins,”
“Twins, huh? That’s pretty special. What does Tristan like?” I aske, glancing at the array of toys displayed in the store window.
She scrunched up her little face in concentration, making her look even more adorable. “He likes cars, dinosaurs and superheros,” she said after a moment. “But I don’t know if a car… a dinosaur, or…. a superhero will make him feel better,”
I glanced at the toy store window, then back at her. “How about we go inside and take a look together?” I suggested..
Her face lit up with a bright smile. “Really? Thank you, sh

We walked into the store, and I could see her eyes widen with excitement as she looked around at all the toys.
