Chapter 80
Adeline West
Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably as I clung to Sebastian, my body trembling against his chest. It felt like my world had been ripped apart again. I had survived being rejected and banished by Killian once, but this–this was a fresh. wound. My sobs echoed in the room, each breath harder to catch than the last,
“I hate him, Sebastian,” I choked out between ragged breaths, my voice thick with anger and despair. “I hate him for doing this to me! How could he–how could he be the one? How could Killian be the man who forced himself on me that night?”
sebastian’s arms tightened around me, pulling me closer. His chest was warm and steady, a complete opposite to the chaos raging inside me. “Shh,” he whispered softly, his hand gently stroking my hair. “I know, Adeline. I know. But don’t have to face this alone. I’m here, no matter what. I’m not going anywhere.”

“But he’s claiming to be their father, Sebastian!” I cried, my voice trembling with disbelief. “He’s saying Tristan and Bridget are his and that he’ll kill anyone who stands between him and them. What am I supposed to do?”
Sebastian pulled back slightly, just enough to cup my face in his hands. His eyes locked onto mine, filled with nothing but concern and unwavering support. “You don’t let him control you again,” he said firmly. “He doesn’t get to walk back into your life after everything and make demands. You’ve raised those kids for four years, Adeline. You’re their mother. He can’t just take them from you.
“But Killian.” I started, my voice breaking again. “He’s willing to hurt anyone who gets in his way.”
“I’m not afraid of him,” Sebastian said with an edge to his voice. “And neither should you be. We’ll figure this out together
I wanted to believe him Goddess, I wanted to believe that everything would be okay. But the fear gnawed at me, making it impossible to feel anything but panic. Killian was relentless, and now he had every reason to come after me and the children.
Then Samuel had called for a family meeting. My stomach churned at the thought of facing Killian again. When we arrived at the meeting hall, my pulse quickened. It was just me and Sebastian.
*Hello, Adeline.” Samuel greeted me as his eyes fell on me. “I think you should bring the children as well.”
“No,” I said sharply, shaking my head. “I don’t want them involved in this. They don’t need to hear-”
“They have a right to know about their father, Samuel interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument. “Bridget and Tristan need to be here. They’re old enough to understand,”
“They’re four years old,” I snapped, fury building in my chest. “They don’t need to understand any of this. They’re children.”
“Adeline, Samuel said, his voice softening just a bit. “I understand your fear, but they are Volkovs. Whether you want to admit it or not, they are tied to our family.”
Sebastian stepped in, his tone protective and steady. “Adeline said no. You don’t get to make decisions about her kids
Killian’s sudden presence in the room made the air go cold. He stepped between me and Sebastian with a dangerous glint in his eyes, as if Sebastian’s very existence irritated him. “Stay in your lane. Sebastian,” Killian growled, his voice low and full of threat. “You’re not family, so don’t act like you have any say in this”
1 could feel the heat rise in my chest–a rush of adrenaline 1 couldn’t suppress. “Sebastian is family,” I spat, my “He’s been more of a father to Tristan and Bridget than you ever will be, Killian So back off.”
voice sharp
Kilhan’s eyes darkened, his jaw clenching so tightly I thought he might snap. But I didn’t care. I wasn’t going to let him bully me or anyone else. Not anymore.

Everything was spiraling into chaos, and I barely had time to breathe before Mary came into the room with Tristan and Bridget. My heart clenched at the sight of my children. My precious, innocent children are now dragged into this disaster.
Bridget’s face lit up the moment she saw Killian. She wrigded out of Mary’s grasp, her little legs moving quickly towards him with a wide grin “Toy man!” she squealed with joy.
That joy stabbed me in the heart. She didn’t understand. She didn’t know what kind of man Killian was. She just saw a stranger who looked like her, who somehow made her feel safe, even though he was the one I feared the most.
But before she could reach him. Tristan’s small hand shot out, grabbing her wrist firmly. “No, Bridget,” he said, his voice hard and serious, way too grown up for a four–year–old. “Don’t go near him?

dget pouted, confused. “But it’s Toy man, “Tris!”
Tristan’s face hardened, and for a moment, I saw an anger in his eyes that scared me. “He’s not a nice man. He made Mommy cry”
“Tristan, baby, don’t—” I started, my heart breaking at the weight my son was carrying. But he was determined, standing firm between his sister and Killian.
Killian’s eyes flickered with something–hurt, maybe? It was fleeting, disappearing almost as quickly as it came. But before he could respond, Samuel cleared his throat, drawing our attention back to him.

to the point, Samuel said, his authoritative voice echoing in the room. He slowly turned to Tristan and Bridget, “How are you kids?” He asked.
“We are good.” Tristan replied, his eyes fixed on Killian.
“Yeah, we are.” Bridget smiled. “How are you?” She asked innocently.
“T’m fine, thank you dear.” He smiled. “So you know why we are here?” He asked.
Briget shook her head, “Because mommy invited you to her wedding?” She said.
“No, dear, we are here to tell you something.” He said.
“Oh, what is that?” She asked in her sweet voice.
“We recently learned about your real father. He said, glancing at me and Killian.
“Our father?” Bridget said, confused.
“Yes, my lovely child. Samuel said. “Do you wanna know who he your father is?”
Bridget looked at me and back at Samuel, nodded her head curiously.
“It’s me.” Killian suddenly spoke.
Toy man.” Bridget said, confused.
“Yes, my dear, your toy man is your real father.” Samuel said, hearing that Bridget’s face beamed in happiness. A big smile on her lips.
Tristan held her hand and shook his head at her. My heart clenched inside my chest when that beautiful smile on her face dropped and sadness crossed her features. Samuel sighed at Tristan’s behaviour and turned to us.
“We need to discuss what’s best for the children. After talking with Killian, we’ve decided it’s best for you and the kids to move back to the Silver Moon Pack.”
