Lilia sucks in a breath. “But you severed that? You rejected her. was there!”
“I know. It’s taking longer than I expected. My body just needs a little bit longer to get this out of my system.” I reach for her, wrapping her in a hug. “Only you have my heart.” I whisper her ear
“Promise?” She asks, looking up to me with a soft twinkling in her eye.
I nod and she sighs, whispering back to me. “I forgive you.”
How did I get so lucky to have such a perfect and understanding fiancée!
Lilia’s POV
I know he’s lying. I don’t even care. I’d expect nothing less.
I say goodnight to Alaric and retire to the bedroom. It might be luxurious for the poor, but to me, it’s too small and the furniture is outdated, but I guess it’ll have to do for now. I’m redecorating the second I get the chance.
All my life. I’ve been surrounded by the best things life has to offer. The best clothes, the best jewelry, the best vacations.
