When Olivia entered, the boy immediately stood up, bowing deeply at a 90–degree angle.
Olivia was momentarily stunned.
Daniel glanced at her. “This is Jared. Starting today, lie your new agent.”
Jared looked at Olivia with a mix of shyness and nervousness.
“Ms. Carter, please take care of me from now on!” he said earnestly.
Olivia was surprised.
In her previous life, her agent had been switched about a year later, and it hadn’t been Jared. Watching him blush just from speaking, she found it hard not to laugh.
Daniel didn’t seem to want to talk much. After a brief explanation, he dismissed Olivia and Jared, saying he was busy.
Once they left, Daniel made a phone call.
“Ms. Amelia, the new agent has been assigned to Olivia Yes, don’t worry–he’s just an intern… As for Eve’s livestream today, everything has been arranged…”
After hanging up. Daniel leaned back in his chair, glancing at Olivia’s contract. A sinister look flashed in his
eyes.
“Olivia, you’ve just been dealt a bad hand.”
Olivia took Jared to the café downstairs.
Jared sat across from her, visibly nervous. He kept stealing glances at Olivia, trying to gauge her mood.
The news that he’d been promoted to agent and assigned to Olivia had come as a shock. He’d spent the entire previous night researching everything about her.
Even as a newbie, Jared quickly realized Olivia’s position in the entertainment industry was near rock- bottom, and her previous works had been, well, embarrassing.

But seeing Olivia today surprised him. Gone was the over–the–top, heavily made–up starlet from online photos. She was dressed simply, with her face partially hidden behind a pair of oversized black glasses.
It made sense–celebrities often wanted to avoid being recognized.
“Ms. Carter, um… this is my first time as an agent, so if I mess up… please bear with me. Jared said, his face. reddening again.

Jared froze for a moment before stammering, “I’m already 22! I’m definitely an adult!”

If he’d said he was 18, she’d have believed him.

Worried she might doubt his abilities, Jared quickly added, “Ms. Carter, I know I’ve only been with the company for three days, and I’m still technically an intern, but I promise to work really hard!”

So, Daniel had stuck her with an inexperienced intern.
While Olivia pondered what Daniel’s motives might be Jared was scrolling through his phone, searching for more information about her.
As he scrolled, he came across a livestream from a moderately popular beauty blogger.
The blogger wasn’t small–time–she had tens of thousands of followers. Jared watched for a while, then noticed something odd.
“Ms. Carter, isn’t this the makeup artist from your A Little Spark of Joy crew?”
“Hm?” Olivia looked up.
Jared handed her his phone.
She glanced at the screen and instantly recognized the person on the livestream.
It was none other than Eve–the makeup artist Olivia had just fired!
