Daxton took a breath of oxygen and nodded affectionately at Benjamin, then his gaze turned icy when hi looked at Byron
“I’m not dead yet, and it’s not your place to make decisions for the Moore family!”
Byron trembled, quickly responding, “Father, I would never presume to!”
Daxton scoffed.
“You keep a mistress and bring your illegitimate child home. Are you slapping Benjamin and his mother the face, or me? I may be unwell, but did you think I was dead? And now, for such a trivial matter, you tur a cold shoulder to your own son?”
Daxton didn’t mince words when scolding Byron.
Byron could only bow his head, not daring to utter a word.
“How many embarrassing things have you done yourself, and now you have the audacity to criticize Benjamin? What’s wrong with him acting? It’s certainly better than you fooling around with women and producing an illegitimate child! You shameless thing, get out of my sight!”
Daxton was furious at the sight of Byron.
He had respected his marriage, even after his wife’s death, and never sought another partner.
But my son? Cavorting with women, bringing illegitimate children home, even thinking of displacing his legitimate heir with one?
If not for the sake of his late wife, Daxton might have disowned Byron.
Caught off guard by Daxton’s return and thoroughly humiliated, Byron left with his tail between his legs. Once Byron had left, Daxton’s stern gaze softened as he looked back at Benjamin.
“Don’t mind your foolish father. Once you graduate, it time for you to start in the company.”
Benjamin nodded respectfully to Daxton, who had always supported and cherished him.
Daxton continued, “If you truly enjoy acting, I’m not old–fashioned. How about I give you a few years to pursue it?”
Benjamin was slightly taken aback, explaining, “Grandfather, I’m actually not that interested in acting. It enrolled in the acting program just to spite my father.”
“Oh? Then why did you start acting?” Daxton inquired
