Unlike Olivia, who was whisked away by Paul and Brody, Liliana and Amelia were carted off in an ambulance.
Meanwhile, as Paul and Brody eagerly anticipated what kind of lavish meal Olivia would treat them to, the car pulled up in front of an elementary school.
“We’re here.” Olivia quickly got out of the car.
Brody and Paul looked at the crowd of bustling little kids at the school gate, momentarily baffled.
As they stood puzzled, Olivia led them to a soup noodle stall in front of the school.
Tiny tables barely the size of a large handkerchief and stools just as small greeted them.
The pampered lords had never seen such miniature furniture–it was clearly meant for children.
Under Olivia’s enthusiastic hospitality, they sat down.
Only then did they understand….
Olivia’s idea of a big meal was a one–dollar soup noodle buffet at the school gate.
“Boss, three of us!” Olivia cheerfully threw down three dollars.
The stall owner’s mouth twitched.
He had never seen such shamelessness. Three adults crashing a kid’s soup noodle buffet!
Brody and Paul could clearly feel the disdain in the soup noodle vendor’s eyes.
But Olivia, seemingly oblivious, grabbed three baskets and started stuffing them with vegetables.
It wasn’t until the vendor’s eyes were practically rolling back in his head that Olivia handed over the full baskets.
She grabbed three spoons and dragged Paul and Brody to the tiny table.
Surrounded by elementary students, Brody and Paul felt like giants.
The kids at the next table weren’t even as tall standing up as they were sitting down.
When Olivia placed three towering servings of soup noodles in front of Paul and Brody, they heard the amazed murmurs of the children and the incredulous stares of their parents.
“Today, it’s on me. Eat up!” Olivia declared grandly, as if she had spent a fortune.
Brody and Pau went quiet. Nearby parents muttered,
“What’s with young people today? They look respectable, how can they shamelessly scrounge off kids?”
“We really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover…”

Brody, “Uh, maybe I’m too hungry to have an appetite all of a sudden.”
Paul, “That… Olly, this is kid stuff, our appetite, giving the vendor one dollar, is that really…”
“One dollar what? Is one dollar not money now? You don’t know that back in my village, it could buy a huge basket of cabbage and a bag of large radishes, enough to feed an adult for a week.” Olivia felt they really didn’t understand the hardships of life; she hadn’t eaten for days and they were still concerned about others.
Unintentionally revealing something significant, Brody quickly picked up on it.
“Village? You lived in a village before?”
Olívia nodded.
“Yes, one of those remote mountain villages you guys probably have never visited, where just the drive on the mountain roads takes four to five hours.”
