In the ear, Lucas tried to strike up a conversation with Olivia, introducing himself and attempting to build a rapport. Unfortunately for him, Olivia wasn’t in the mood for small talk, leaving him to entertain himself.
Benjamin focused on driving while Lucas pulled out his phone to play a mobile game. Within minutes, the car was filled with Lucas’s dramatic shouting.
“Are you stupid? What are you doing? The dragon’s gone, and you’re still farming creeps!”
“Damn it! My ranked game! Can you stop feeding? Even food delivery guys don’t deliver as much as you!”
Olivia, watching the scenery pass outside the window, found Lucas’s outbursts increasingly irritating. With a sigh, she snatched the phone out of his hand.
“Hey! Olivia, what are you doing?” Lucas exclaimed in confusion.
“You’re in a ranked match, right? I’ll play for you,” Olivia replied calmly, glancing at the game. She remembered this title well from her previous life.
Lucas hesitated. “Wait, this is a King–level match! Don’t mess it up—”
Before he could finish, Olivia sent the in–game character charging straight into a brawl. Lucas reached out instinctively to stop her, but then the game’s announcer voice boomed through the car:
“Double kill!”
“Triple kill!”
“Quadra kill!”
“Penta kill!”
“Ace!”
Lucas stared in awe, utterly speechless.
The match ended in victory, and Olivia handed the phone back to him with a casual air.
Lucas looked at the screen, then back at Olivia, utterly stunned.
“Pro gamer! Please carry me!”
Olivia shrugged. “You’re already at King rank. Why would you need me to carry you?”
Benjamin chimed in from the driver’s seat, his tone dripping with dry amusement. “He hired a booster.”
Olivia raised an eyebrow, incredulous. “You pay someone to play this? Isn’t this game easy enough if you’ve got hands?”
Lucas flushed with embarrassment. “Uh… I’m not great at these kinds of games.”

“Aw, come on!” Lucas pleaded, but then remembered her earlier reluctance to part with money. Inspiration struck. “How about this? Be my gaming partner–I’ll pay you per match.”
At the mention of payment, Olivia’s eyes lit up instantly
“Deal,” she said without hesitation.
Lucas grinned, quickly adding Olivia to his contacts.

From the rearview mirror, Benjamin watched the exchange. Without a word, he tossed his own phone to Lucas.
“Add me too.”
Olivia raised an eyebrow. “You play?”
Benjamin replied smoothly, “I do.”
Lucas, already skeptical, nearly choked. Lies.
He knew for a fact Benjamin didn’t even have the game installed. His intentions are as clear as day.
Soon, the car pulled up at Lock Bar. The sun hadn’t yet set, and the bar wasn’t busy. Lucas confidently led the way, clearly a regular; patrons greeted him with enthusiastic shouts of “Mr. Thompson.”
“That Mr. Armstrong’s full name is Jack Armstrong,” Lucas explained as they walked. “He’s a notorious playboy, from a family in international trade. He owns this bar, actually. When we see him, let me do the talking. You keep quiet and let me handle it.”
Hearing the name, Olivia’s expression turned cold, a glint of frost in her eyes.
“You know him?” Benjamin asked, noticing her shift in demeanor.
Olivia sneered. “I do. He’s trash.”
In her past life, Olivia had encountered Jack while working on a film set. He’d taken an interest in her and tried to coerce her into a shady deal. After she refused, he colluded with one of her so–called friends to lure her to a hotel and drug her.
Luckily, Olivia had noticed something was off and managed to escape before Jack could make his move. Unfortunately, paparazzi had snapped photos of her entering the hotel with Jack, sparking a scandal that damaged her career.
This time, Olivia wasn’t going to let Jack off so easily.
