Chapter 76 Officer, He Stole My Car

Benjamin nodded obediently, accepting Olivia’s scolding–this lesson had nearly cost him his future.
Lucas, standing to the side, listened in shock as the pieces fell into place,
“Olivia, does this mean you knew Benedict planned the car accident and deliberately led the police here?”
Olivia glanced at Lucas.

“The fact that you figured that out means your brain is salvageable.”
Wait, Lucas thought, is she complimenting me or insulting met
Watching Benedict being loaded into the police car while the entire arrest was captured clearly by the media, Olivia knew his fate was sealed.
As an illegitimate child already marginalized in the Moore family, Benedict’s downfall would be far worse than anything Benjamin faced in the previous timeline
Meanwhile, amidst the chaos, James managed to stand up. Seeing the police on–site, he clutched his still- bleeding head and rushed over.
“Officer! Someone assaulted me!”
The officers, who were preparing to wrap up, immediately straightened up. Seeing James with blood running down his head, they froze for a moment.
“What happened?”
James pointed a trembling finger at Olivia.
“It was her! She beat me up! Arrest her right now!”
The officers turned to Olivia, and upon seeing she was a petite girl, their expressions shifted to ones of disbelief as they glanced back at the towering six–foot James.
“She injured you?”
James nodded furiously. “Yes, it was her!”
The officers began to approach Olivia to question her, but she spoke first.
“Officer, I’d like to report a crime!”
The officers were caught off guard.
Olivia pointed directly at James, who had just accused her.
“He’s a thief–he stole my car.”
James froze.
“You’re lying! I’ve never stolen your car!” he sputtered, panicking.

Olivia pointed to a nearby red Ferrari.
James panicked even more.
“Officer, don’t believe her! Look at her clothes–they’re cheap! How could she possibly afford a car like that? I’m the son of Carter Group. Why would I need to steal her car?”
The reporters, who were packing up to leave, perked up at the mention of the “Carter Group” and quickly turned their cameras back toward the scene, sensing fresh headlines.
The officers, too, were stunned. What had initially seemed like a simple hit–and–run case had now spiraled into something far bigger.
“Do you have any evidence to prove he stole your car? an officer asked Olivia.
James immediately perked up.
“Yeah, where’s your evidence?”
Olivia looked at James, her eyes glinting with amusement at his smug expression.
“Oh, I definitely have evidence,” she said, pulling out her phone.
She played a video she had copied earlier from the security office. The footage showed Olivia parking her car in the morning, followed by James sneaking up to the Ferrari with tools in hand. The video captured him breaking into the car and driving off
The surveillance system at St. Rona Academy was state–of–the–art, and the crystal–clear footage left nothing to the imagination.
In mere seconds, James‘ face turned ghostly pale.
He had assumed Olivia hadn’t reported him because she had no evidence. He never imagined she had gone to the trouble of retrieving the security footage and copying it.
The truth was now undeniable.
James had been caught red–handed. He was a thief, and there was no escaping it now.
