Chapter 7
Indeed, you can get rid of a cheating scumbag, but you can’t afford to let go of the money.
With that thought, I immediately contacted Alex.
Alex: “Ophelia, have you had a change of heart? I’ll tell you what, if you apologize nicely, I’ll forgive you.”
“After all, we were about to get married, and I don’t want to be too harsh.”
I was disgusted, but I quickly told him to pay me back.
Me: “Pay me back?!”
Alex sounded surprised. “When did I owe you money?”
“Don’t try to extort me!”
Alex: “I haven’t even reported you for making me lose my job!”

I sneered and said, “You’ve been eating my food, staying with me, and living off me for the past two years without spending a penny. Three months ago, you told me your dad was sick and needed surgery, and you borrowed fifty thousand from me–did you forget? And at the beginning of the year, you said your family was building a house and borrowed sixty thousand from me–did you forget that too?”
“I won’t even ask you for the smaller amounts, but these two large sums, you’d better pay me back!”
Alex stammered for a while, then suddenly spoke fluently, “My dad’s illness is something between the two of us. Don’t you think you should show some filial piety?”
“And as for the house, wasn’t that for our wedding? What was I supposed to do without a house? Your dad said you shouldn’t be wronged. Our family still owes tens of thousands for the house and we didn’t ask you for any money.”
Marrying Without My Eight Year Boyfriend Knowing

He was completely unreasonable, pushing his nonsense to the extreme.
Me: “What does your family’s house have to do with me? Did you put my name on the property? If you can’t afford to get married, don’t force it. You can’t afford me. So, you spent my money on building your family’s house, and now you want to charge it to me? What, am I your father?”
Me: “Your father is your father, who raised you, not me. If your family is sick and needs money, let them pay for it.”
One sentence: pay me back!
Alex was furious, repeating that I was heartless. I remained indifferent, constantly urging him to pay me back.
He shifted from threatening me to playing the emotional card, “Ophelia, we’ve been together for over two years, and our feelings are deep. Even the most stone–hearted person can’t just walk away from that. You see, I haven’t said anything after all this time, so why bring up money? We still need to get married.”
Marriage?
I laughed in anger. What marriage? He should marry Emily.
Me: “Who’s marrying you? Don’t tell me you think I’m playing hard to get or that I’m just throwing a tantrum. We’re breaking up. Are you still dreaming?”
I sarcastically mocked him, “Great genius, hurry up and marry your sweet little girl. I wish you both a hundred years of happiness and eight kids.”
“Now pay me back, or I’ll sue you.”
Alex completely lost it and started cursing me over the phone, calling me as venomous as a
snake.
I started recording, letting him rant until he was done, keeping my composure. Once he paid, I could let him go.
