Love Story4–Chapter 1
Today marks the one–year anniversary of my relationship with Ruben Morris.
Just after midnight, Ruben posted something on Instagram.
“The sea that was left waiting, I watched it for you.”
The picture was one of him kissing me.
At first glance, I was shocked and a bit confused.
Why had I never seen this photo before?
I zoomed in on the picture.
My body stiffened.
That’s not me?
Who is that?
The clothes are the same, the side profile almost identical to mine?
After a while, the comments started flooding in:
“Ruben, ask for 99 from your sister–in–law!”
“Best wishes, best wishes!”
My best friend: “Joanna Phillips, did you secretly get plastic surgery behind my back? Still looks good, best wishes for 99!”
But there were also different comments appearing:
“This doesn’t seem like Joanna…”
“Isn’t this Joella? Ruben’s first love?”

gollup from the bed, slammed the bedroom door, and walked into the living room.
I looked at Ruben, who was lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone.
I handed him the phone coldly:
“Who is this woman?”
Jie raised his eyes, tears shining in them, lazily replying:
“My first love.”
His nonchalant attitude instantly triggered the fury that had been building up in my chest.
I slammed the phone down on the couch and sneered:
“On our anniversary, you post a kissing photo with your ex–girlfriend. What’s the meaning
of this?”
He was startled by my sudden outburst, but still calmly said:
“I just miss her.”
I was so furious I almost laughed:
“Ruben, how can you make cheating sound so righteous?”
“You can miss her privately, stay friends with her, I don’t mind, but why post your photo together on Instagram? To humiliate me publicly?”
His emotions finally shifted a bit, and he closed the screen of his phone.
He grabbed my hand, speaking earnestly:
“Joanna, you’re overthinking. No one would recognize her.
“If you hadn’t looked closely, even you would have been confused!”
His words made me so angry I wanted to strangle him.

“So, you’re treating me as a stand in, trying to play both sides?”
“Don’t talk nonsense! I haven’t! Joella passed away in a car accident, today is the anniversary of her death.”
At this point, he let go of my hand, and his eyes instantly grew dim,
