“Exactly! Joanna and Hector got their marriage certificate!”
Ruben clenched his fists, gritted his teeth, and muttered “bastard” under his breath.
The King family’s daughter pulled at his sleeve.
He quickly calmed down and resumed smiling, continuing with the ring exchange.
He was no longer the young master of the Phillips family from just a few months ago.
This time, he couldn’t act on his impulses.
Hector and I’s social media exploded, and we achieved financial freedom.
Hector quit his job and went full–time with me on our media projects.
I was worried Ruben would see our official announcement video and, like before, come
looking for me.
So, after getting our marriage certificate, I dragged Hector out of New York.
We traveled the world for our honeymoon.
But later, I heard that Ruben never came looking for me again.
Six months later, news broke online that Ruben and the King family were having a
wedding.
A year later, news emerged that Ruben had divorced.
The King family’s daughter posted on social media:

“Don’t ask, I’m the one who asked for the divorce. I can’t stand a guy with no passion, not even a dog would want him.”

“Stop looking at your phone, it’s time to do something important:”
Hector grabbed my phone, pulled me into his arms, and kissed me.
After Ruben’s divorce, several young women tried to chase after him.
He didn’t even look at them, just pulled out a photo and said:
“See this? This is my daughter, and this is her mother.”
But in reality, the photo was just of an empty house.
“Crazy, psycho!”
Some girls were scared off immediately.
Others, after cursing at him, would throw their drinks at him.
He no longer fought back like he used to. He would just smile faintly, take out a tissue, and wipe the alcohol off his face.
People around him said he had gone mad.
They said he had lost interest in women.
He fired all the women on his floor.
His only focus was work, often so busy that he forgot to eat. His stomach pain got so bad he had to be sent to the hospital.
Molly even thought he had been possessed by the ghost of his late first love and went to see a witch to perform an exorcism:
“Ruben, Joella has been gone for so many years, it’s time to let go.
He just smiled, not explaining or responding.
