Chapter 9
I didn’t quite understand the silent exchange between my mom and him.
After being sent back to my room, I fell into a daze and drifted back to sleep,
When I woke up again, he was already gone.
Mom brought me the porridge that had been kept warm, urging me to drink it, quy sitting beside me.
Her gaze was always gentle and firm, as if waiting to hear my plans.
After finishing the porridge, I finally gathered some strength, lazily leaning into my mom’s embrace, holding her waist just like when I was little.
“He cheated.”
I didn’t expect to say it so calmly.
“I had already decided that if he wouldn’t marry me, I would just spend my whole life with
him.”
“Why couldn’t he just wait?”
I truly didn’t understand.
We could wait for ten years, yet our ten years couldn’t measure up to a woman he’d known for just three days.
I sniffed, forcing back the tears:
“He slept with a woman he met just three days ago.”
Mom’s hand, which had been gently stroking my hair, paused. Her voice trembled with uncontrollable anger.
Chapter 9
“It’s better to end it, better to end it…”
“Tomorrow, we’ll go see Grandma Anderson. If we need to say things clearly, we’ll say
them.”
