Chapter 14
My intuition was spot on.
After Liam finished the drink, something about his condition seemed off.
The waiter stayed close to him, seemingly trying to pull him away: “Sir, are you feeling unwell? There’s a guest room over here. Let me take you there.”
I put down my plate and walked over, pushing the waiter aside.
“No need to trouble yourself, I’ll take him.”
Reluctantly, the waiter let go of Liam.
When Liam saw it was me, his expression visibly relaxed. He leaned heavily on me, almost like a large golden retriever, needy and clingy.
His unusually warm breath brushed against my neck, making me feel a little ticklish.
“Colette, I feel hot.”
“That drink seems to be off. I have medicine in my suit. Just help me to the bathroom later.”
I nodded, scanning the crowd.
Sure enough, I didn’t see Jorge and his group anywhere.
Since the bathrooms were for the banquet staff, they were all located in the lounge, separated from the main area.
Liam had his own rest room.

I could hear the sound of water running in the bathroom, mingling with a faint sound of
male breathing. Just as I was starting to feel uneasy, I heard a woman’s frantic voice calling
out.

Chapter 14
“Sister, what’s wrong with you?”
“What’s going on in there? Open the door!”
The door across from us was being knocked on repeatedly.
“Nina, stop making a scene.”
