Chapter 7
“What…what’s going on here?”
“Yeah, isn’t this supposed to be Mr. Taylor’s house? Why can’t “he” open it, but she can?”
“This is awkward…did we come all this way for nothing?”
Hearing the murmurs around her, Daisy couldn’t hold back and suddenly yanked her hand out of Ivy’s grip. She jabbed her finger at me, shouting, “What’s your problem! Calvin already doesn’t want you anymore, and you secretly changed the passcode just to embarrass him! You even made him think his parents changed it.”
She turned to Calvin. “Hurry up and delete her fingerprint! Put mine in instead!”
Standing calmly on the steps, I looked down at Calvin, who wore a dark expression. Daisy might be clueless, but he wasn’t. He knew perfectly well–he’d never brought me here before, let alone set my fingerprint.
I exchanged a glance with Ivy, and just then, Calvin’s phone buzzed with a message.
“My assistant is on the way to unlock it for you. Are you inside yet?”
Seeing this message, Calvin visibly relaxed, but his attitude towards me shifted. “Since you’re already here, why not join us for dinner? Today…today, let’s celebrate together.”
Daisy seemed about to protest, but Calvin shot her a sharp look, silencing her.
As we headed inside, Calvin pulled me aside onto the balcony.
“Bianca, between you and Miss Wright…”
“Oh, you mean Miss Wright?” I replied smoothly. “Today’s my first day working as her
assistant.”

“What’s wrong? Worried she might find out about your affair? Don’t worry, she has no
clue.”

Chapter 7
“But
Calvin’s gaze shifted, his eyes fixed nervously on my lips.
“But I didn’t know you were a rich kid,” I added, pulling my arm from his grip and ignoring
the guilty look that flashed across his face.
Inside, Ivy played her part well, looking around as if this were her first time here. Her gaze suddenly landed on a golden–hued room upstairs.
“Mr. Taylor, what’s that room for? It’s so pretty!”
Calvin chuckled casually, seeing my own curious expression. “It’s just an ordinary room.”
“Can we take a look inside?” Ivy asked eagerly. Calvin’s colleagues seemed just as intrigued, noticing how distinct the door looked compared to the others. Seeing everyone’s expectant gazes, Calvin gave a little nod. “Sure, just be careful.”
Ivy led me towards the stairs, but Daisy shoved past us at the last moment. “Know your place, seriously. Clinging on like some pathetic leech.”
Ivy’s temper flared, but I held her back, giving her a reassuring smile. The real show was
still to come.
“Let Daisy open the door. After all…she *is* Mr. Taylor’s girlfriend,” I suggested, with an air
of innocence.
A few people smirked and cast disdainful looks my way, while Daisy basked in the attention, clearly relishing being the center of focus. With Calvin still downstairs, she wore an air of ownership as she confidently gripped the doorknob. But after a few seconds, her
smile froze.
“Oh, can’t open it? Need me to show you how?”
